  1. hello and welcome to the club! :) The oil to use is synta silver 10/40 from vw. It takes 5.5 litres for an oil change.
  2. yeah temp sensor is blue. They normally refer to it as the blue temp sensor, about 8 quid from gsf i think.
  3. haha. Good man. Go to the membership tab up the top, then go to the bit that says downloads, then technical documents, then you will see in there is a guide to cleaning the cam sensor, you can download it from there, just click the blue arrow at the bottom of the page. Im on my phone pm cant check the exact path, but its roughly that. Let me know if you cant find it.
  4. yeah, i use the bmc panel filter in mine as i had heard a lot of good stuff about them... But k&n or any of the other cotton filters are good. The standard ones are paper and need replacing yearly, so it is a false economy really.
  5. This is where being a premium member comes in handy and starts paying you back because there is a step by step guide on removing the cam sensor in the downloads section...
  6. Us guys that go down on the Friday usually convoy stylee it down there late morning to get there around lunchtime and get set up early so we can make a day of it friday... can you make that?? :)

  10. hh i thought they had come like that!! lol. ill have to get onto my local vw and see if they have any... thanks for the pics.
  11. yeah will be mate. helen n gav are from your way. We normally meet along route somewhere depending on which way we go, but there will def be a convoy to jump onto.
  12. :( Propa gutted to see this mate. Looks like a real mission you have on your hands there, i just hope you can get it sorted quickly and cheaply. Bryn did complete seals too... Might work out easier to do that. :S at least you're getting it sorted though and not giving up, its nice to see. Good luck.
  13. yeay! Good one craig... wouldn't be the same without you... Plus tony would be running in circles wondering where the missing half is!
  14. how come the drivers one is marked?
  15. on an obd1 car id say its probably the isv which is located to the right of the throttle body just under the engine plastic... That could do with some cleaning as that's what stabilises the revs... If not, try running the car without the maf n see how it runs, also check the plugs and leads. Failing that it could be the lambda sensor, but should really show up on vag com... So id start at the top and work the way down the list. Good luck and let us know how you get on. :)
  16. thanks guys. I think ill do it for peace of mind. Then i know its nice n fresh.
  17. £11.22 from VW thats with 10% discount!! I think i might just do it though... then its had everything possible done :)
  18. No worries mate... def narrows it down to more than likely plugs, leads, maf or lambda then, vag com is a good idea though just to check. good luck!
  19. Ive tried looking but no joy... i will do another one soon thats on our site as i want to add more holes to mine... give me a week or so to find someone with a drill i can borrow... lol.
  20. Ok so start with the basics... Check the plugs and leads are all ok... also see how it runs without the maf plugged in... check your coilpack hasnt cracked, if its none of them then possibly the lambda or the ISV if your car is OBD 1? Let us know how you get on.
  21. no wuckin furries mate... and thats great thanks... could do with investing in a set of mats before inters as mine are looking a little raggy... my little size 3s are burning a hole in them!! haha.
