  1. Ive been flicking through the Bently manual and looking at the service intervals and what needs to be done and when to make sure ive covered everything.... when i got to the bit about fuel filter it says it is designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle and that it should not be replaced unless blocked or contaminated by using the wrong fuel etc. Does anyone here bother doing theirs?? I did mine in my mk2 as it was a p*ss easy job but i know on the vr its a bit more of a mission so if no one does theirs then i wont do mine, saves a few quid too...

  13. wow they're a lot cheaper! even cheaper than the Bosch ones which makes me worry!! lol. But looks like ill go for those ones. thanks
  14. The one that comes up for the vr is BKR5EKUP they're about £7/8 each... how come you use different ones??

  16. Hey Guys... Just wondering if there is any real noticable difference between the Bosch spark plugs and the NGK ones... the problem i have is i want to change the plugs so they are nice and fresh so i dont have to worry about them for a while.... but im skint... i dont want to spend out £7 or £8 per plug for NGK ones if they aren't THAT different to the £2 or £3 Bosch ones from GSF. I need some opinions from people who have run both because when buying 6 of them it works out a lot of difference and if the Bosch ones do the job nicely then ill go for them... Thanks in advance :)
  17. its really easy mate, just take the airbox out... (unclip the airbox pipe at the back, take top half of airbox out first, then the bottom) Then drill the underside and front of the bottom section, just be sure not to drill higher than half way or the engine side. Oh and yeah its a good idea, but i would recommend a lifetime panel filter. I run bmc and its great, no changing it and it works better than std...
  18. Nige that is f**kin legendary!!!
  19. that makes me want to cry..
  20. it wont be related to your discs or pads... thats a different light. it will be one of 3 things.... handbrake switch, low brake fluid or an abs fault. not necessarily a sensor though, my light is on and thats down to my abs pump. thats why i would say if its not one of the first 2, which are easy to check then get it on VAG com as it is so much easier.
  21. as said, handbrake switch is under the handbrake, clean that with contact cleaner. If it doesn't work it prob will be abs related, so wang it on vag com. The brake pad warning light is a seperate yellow light i believe.
  22. best way is engine and box in together from the front... thats how we did mine when we took the engine out to do the chains... the whole front end comes off in one..
