    my old head that i had i totally rebuilt it ! and plus if it was the vavles it would be blue smoke on idle ! and its only when changing down gears !

    well basicly the last head i put on the vr was a second hand one from the scrappy ! it leaked oil but i thought it was the piston rings ! so i replaced them all worked fine then blue smoke so took apart again found that i put number 4 and 5 was mixed around the con ron clamps ! so sorted all that out with some new rings etc etc ! ran fine for a week then back to square one !

    knowing vw you never know they might just pull it out the bag and make one abit like the scirocco i was looking at buying the old one then bam ! the new scirocco next thing you know i didn t want the old one no more lol

    i just rung up my local ford place its bloody double the price !!! i am not impressed !

    yer im feeling the pinch ! but the bloody motor aint working right so i have no means of transport apart fromn the work van ! i was looking into getting an audi a4 1.9tdi 50 miles to the gallon ! that would be a big improvement ! from the vr's 2 mile to the gallon ! lol drinks more then a student lol

    not being funny i use to own a little ford fiesta 1.25 zetec s it was a kool little car but rather have my golf ! lol but the last time i went to stana pod i was waiting to see this cossie boot it down the staright as he was reving the shit out of it ! then as he went to go ! bang and 30mph all the way ! i was not impressed ! lol

    Im thinking of getting a set but would i need any lifters etc etc or will the cams go stright in? also what would they be good for i.e. Turbo ? supercharger or N/A? Any info would be great thanks steve

    I feel for you mate i know how it is my vr6 its basicly a rebuilt engine now then gone wrong now back to a rebuild i ve taken it apart so many times i can get the head off in an hour lol

    love the BLQ's they look like a more modern version of the standard VR wheels inmo - but the ones I want are the NUE but they dont do the feckers in 16" :( not massively expensive either [/quote129485I agree with that aswell they look nice !
