Mine did it when my front left abs wire wasn't clipped into the holder. It touched the disc and melted the cable causing a short. The abs light stayed on as did the handbrake light.
Sensor could be broke. If it's feeling alive, maybe it's getting a bit too much fuel. Get it on vagcom and see what it says. Maybe the faults need clearing from when u replaced the sensor.
Set of footprints or 6" stillies on the outside of it. That's how I got my bolts out of the rear brake caliper! Replaced with new bolts and covered the head in copper grease so they last a bit longer.
You really need to get it plugged into vagcom just to check for errors. Vagcom is diagnostics software for VAG cars. Quite a few of us on here have it so there could well be someone close to you that can plug it in for you. Does the same thing as VW's own diagnostics. Theres a page on here that lists members with vagcom and the area they live in.
Either maplins or rs components for the bulb. I've had it on mine before now where the bulb was ok but the circuit board had a break in the pcb. Just a drop of solder on the contacts fixed it.
Your alarm if it's wired in properly wouldn't allow your car to start at all if you disconnect it from the battery. But it definitely sounds like it's the factory immobiliser. Tried your spare key??
Mine outputs 14.2v according to my amp when just the radio is on and 13.9v with everything on. Either a cable is a bit loose like drew said or maybe your alternator is on it's way out.
When mine kept running it was the fan control module. Black rectangular box just below the coolant tank. As for emissions, your lambda could be broke but try getting it plugged into vagcom for fault codes.
Yeah there is 3 or 4 i think. Your's will have a 120 amp one if it's a highline. They're the same for the Ford Galaxy V6 also. You can pick them up fairly cheap on ebay.

Worth it though. Apart from good tyres (which other people would also recommend) brakes are the only thing gonna stop you from hitting anything! No point having power if you can't stop it!!
Cost me £15 for a full kit off eBay for brake lines, olives, fittings and flaring kit. Took me less than an hour to make up new lines when I changed to braided hoses.
yeah, big job. You can disconnect the 2 hoses in the engine bay that go to the matrix and join them with a piece of pipe or somethin. Temporary fix but will cover you til the windows start misting up.
