  1. With a MAP setup, and your concerns, im sure you can get little filters to screw in there. The best way to do it, is to route it back to the intake.
  2. This is the problem with generic OBD2 code readers. You need to use VAG COM, or the proper VW diagnostic equipment.

  4. Lizard, you have 370hp @4kprm, what was your peak torque? and at what rpm?
  5. Looks like a T4 hot housing, thats gonna flow SO much better than the nasty 0.63 T3 housing. The A/R should be cast into the housing somewhere, is there any numbers in the mouth of the housing? I cant think off the top of my head what A/R's the T4 housings are, I know the T3 ones are 0.63, 0.82 and 1.06. The last car we dynoed had a 0.82 T3 housing on it, it made 480lbft, and gained over 300lbft in less than 600rpm, so the hot side is changing to a T3 1.06 now, to help spread the torque a little better and improve top end flow.
  6. Rotrex over the Vortech everyday of the week. Rotrex have come along way in development recently. You dont need to go standalone to run a rotrex, It can be run on a standard ecu no problem atall.
  7. The arrows shows the direction of the airflow, so it needs to point away from the air filter.
  8. The Apexi AVCR is a very good boost controller, has nice features on it, the gear dependant boost is very handy with the power of a VR6T. We tend to keep the boost lower in the 1st 2 gears, even in the 4wd cars.
  9. Both are listed as stretch bolts, and as such 'should' be replaced, it is better to replace with ARP bolts, as these are better quality and are re usable.
  10. The AVCR is a very good and pretty clever boost controller, the best part about it is the gear dependant boost. running just a spring to your desired boost level is the best way to get started.
  11. Is it a OBD1 or OBD2 setup? If there are any discrepencies on the lambda input on a OBD1 setup, the ECU will dial in MAXIMUM fuel addition (roughy ~25%) so if its OBD1 check your lambda readings. The same is also true if there is no lambda probe present, no probe = ~25% extra fueing If its OBD2 this doesnt happen, the ecus sees inplausible readings, ignores the probe, throws a code, and just runs with no lambda correction atall. (no addtional fuel is added).
  12. Yep 100% sure There is no problem with these ECU's, N/A, S/C or turbo. Remember its possible to remove the immobilizer.
  13. 021 906 258 CH is a OBD1 setup, with a 4 wire maf, it also has an Immobilizer in the ECU.
  14. Its hard to define which is best, what you need is what is best for you, what are your goals etc. If you can get a drive in each of the cars, this will help to make your mind up. ECU software for each is available from C2 UK
  15. 4motion clutch is 240mm, duel mass flywheel 02A gearbox wont accept a clutch bigger than 228mm
  16. Do you have a relay nunbered 109 in relay position 3 on the fuseboard?
  17. Is there a single red plug with a red/yellow wire in the loom at the fuse box end? If so, have you plugged it to live?
  18. The Blue sensor is the one the ECU reads the water temperature from The Brown one is only fitted to aircon vehicles. The yellow one is the sender for the temperatre gauge in the dash cluster. it also has a switch in it to control the electric water pump. (this sensor is now black/blue when bought new from VW) So if ANY of them is causing an over fueling problem it'll be the Blue one.
