I turbo'd my old VR when it had just clocked 150,000 miles and never had any problems with it.

turbo fuel pump options?

I did not have any problems at all. After messing about with Bosch 044 ear bashing madness it was one of the best mods I ever did. Also I found out the hard way why not to use rubber pipes in the cabin as the 044 swirl pot setup made the whole car stink of fuel. -

Not sure yet, either upgrade to 310mm discs with a caliper spacer or might go all out on a custom 330mm AP 4pot setup with brembo hand brake caliper to keep it MOT able. -
Love this car Used to have the same wheels on my first mk3 vr6, brings back so many good memories.

Looking good. What are you hoping for numbers wise on Monday? -
Have you set the tdc offset angle with a timing light? Have you checked the plugs? are they wet, dry? Is it sparking? Have you calibrated all your sensors? Just a few of things you could check.

Fitted these bad boys last night. They don't look like much but they are AP Racing CP5066 calipers with titanium pistons and 378mm x 32mm floating discs (not bells like most floating setups about). I have been speaking to the guys at AP and these are off a Audi Touring Car! The pads are nothing like I have ever seen before; They came with Ferodo DS3000 race pads which was a bonus. After fitting these I have founds they are really street-able, no squealing which was a concern I had as the car is currently my daily driver. Tight squeeze under my 1 -

Thanks for the info. Things can get expensive real quick with cars. Just a case of collecting the parts one piece at a time and being patient. -

Thanks, You are correct! Many lessons learned over years, my first build was full of silicone/Tbolt clamps and zip ties. Haha -
Cage is looking good. Can't wait to see that big turbo mounted.

turbo fuel pump options?

Forget all these kits they are a load of crap. I bought a cheap new housng like this (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ELECTRICAL-IN-TANK-FUEL-PUMP-AND-FLOAT-VW-SHARAN-1-8-2-0-2-8-V6-VR6-24V-T-20V-/361511667321?hash=item542bc64679:g:BUkAAOSwBPNXSE4u), then removed the standard pump and secured the Walbro 400 in with chemical metal. Worked a treat whatever the fuel level. Standard wiring is ok for Walbro 400 and 255. -

I know what you are saying and your right. I will map it my self to a certain point then I will get it fine tuned by a guy I know and trust. I'm using Haltech's CAN based wideband setup. The feedback is much quicker than a conventional analog setup. I just don't want to fall into this tuning cliche that keeps repeating itself. "You must find a tuner then get whatever ecu he is comfortable with" err, no thanks it's my car! Then there is the notion that it is some black art. I'm not having it. -

This came in the post today. 3.5" inlet/outlet should flow enough. Originally planned to go with an air/air intercooler but changed my mind at the last minute, even bought a 1800cfm core. I know lots of people are sceptical over chargecoolers but after lots of research I thought F**k it I will give it a go, guess curiosity got the better of me. The core it's self is a cheap item off eBay with cast end tanks. If it proves it can keep the inlet temps and low I will consider upgrading it for a Precision PT2000 with sheet metal end tanks in the future. -

I like to mess with all the essential bits lol. Did I mention I'm going to wire it all up and map it myself? Lol. Why pay someone else to have all the fun.? -

Gave the old girl a wash after fitting Gaz coilovers, not exactly what the cool kids are calling stanced but it does not rub so it will do for me. -
Gt3582r Is a good turbo your application and my number 1 choice if it's in your budget. Garretts T61 is also a good option if your on a budget and can't afford ball bearing. I have ran GT35 from 7psi making 298bhp all the way to 26psi running 576bhp. Trust me when you get the turbo bug you will be happy you picked a turbo with plenty of head room because addictive does not even cover it. Another area not to skimp is Wastegate. That is the only component between requested boost and unlimited (well to a point but you get what I mean).

Welcome to the club and the best of luck with your conversion.

I have one and live about an hour north of you.

Good choice. I used to run the same turbo on my old vrt.

From my experience 576 bhp is fine on stock internals (I ran like this for 3 years). That was produced by a GT3582R .82 T3 hotside and 26psi of boost. At times I ran up to 30psi with boost spikes. By stock internals i mean spacer plate only. Stock head bolts will have no problem either, I hate that everyone says that you must fit ARP hardware, save your money and get 20 head bolts for £20 at Euro car parts. I understand its a nice to have as they are re-usable but necessity they are not. The gearbox is where you will have issues. Standard 02a is clutch is go
