    right first job was to remove my old vent mesh under the front of the roof.............. used the air grinder followed by the air dremmel tool............ 10 minutes later it was all removed................ next was a major................door repair!!!! rust removed.............. new metal welded in.............. NOW FOR THE MAIN EVENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bus in the booth all masked up ready for the primer coatings............. PRIMERTIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!.................. now this week the sun has been shining so the boys rolled my bus out to fully block the primer ready for paint!.

    well i'm going to come clean................... i wanted to do most of the work myself but with the new baby time has been spent with the family, so i got the chance of the boys putting in a few shifts to push my bus on!!!!! its now costing ££££'s but the progress is quick and the work is first class!!!!!! first job was to prep the roof then paint it, super smooth. lol.............. next on the hitlist was to finish any small body repairs then give it a paint with polyester where required.............. the polyester is quite thick so will be blocked down to create a super flat finish.

    i srayed my rear ones with silicone spray to stop the grinding noise, worked a treat, not sure if its recommended though! lol

    Cheers fella.......... Before we weld any metal we paint the reverse with etch primer as a temporary measure. Once the bus is painted, waxoil will be injected or sprayed into the areas where no paint has reached! You must do this or the fresh welds will just start rusting from the inside out!

    started work on repairing my cab doors, not it too bad a condition and are the original ones!!!!! sanded back any wee bits of rust to see the extent of the damage, not much so all good! this was the worst bit as its a hard section to repair!!!! made up some metal sections and my mate welded them in postion............. and a wee ginder back and its as good as new!!! ha ha ha............... more door action this week so will keep ya posted! ;-)

    cheers dude................ tbh i'll be doing what i'm told from my mate in the bodyshop!!!!! lol i'm not overly fussed on the inside finish as it will be hidden with cupboards, curtains etc................... although my mate keeps telling me "if a jobs worth doing, its worth doing right" (h)

    well saturday came and we managed a shift in about the cargo area............... first was to get my bus into the spray booth............ once in the booth i gave the whole cargo area a scotchie to assure a good key for the primer and finished my masking tapeing etc.............. lastly i blew it out and used panel wipe on all surfaces to remove an greasy residues. we planned out or spraying and started will the large side area............. mmmmmmmmm breath in those fumes!!!!!!!............ the area above the engine bay, super smooth............... and lastly Steve hits the floor area

    cheers dude.......................... remembered my camera for a change!.............. not too much to report but any progess is good...........right?!?!?!? masked off all inside and got front cab area into primer.......... bulkhead before............ after.......... can't even see where i welded the bulkhead in!!!!!!!!.............. wheel tub before............. after........ some more cab shots........... smooth dash!!!!............ once the primer had dried i removed all the tape and then masked off the cargo area ready to be primed on saturday....... putting a full shift in so ho

    so on your policy you have an agreed valuation for £27k?????.................... i hope so as they will not payout like for like as i found out a few years back! i thought it would have more to do with the performance of your car that drives the premium into a different league?!?!?! no offence taken dude, who would want to steal a rotten old camper van anyway?!?!?! lol

    wow thats expensive dude' date=' it has nowt too do with the rebuild price proberly.................. my bus would cost [b']over £27k to build and my insurance is under £200 with all mods declared, it also has an agreed valuation in that price incase it was totalled! i dislike insurance quotes on our pride and joys! :S shop around....................good luck tho....................
