  1. Just a quick question to find out what diameter boost pipes you guys are running, I know my turbo out pipe is 2" so was going to run 2" pipes but seems small to me. Cheers Dougie
  2. I hope to do mine by running the intake above the gearbox more like a 20vt. and outlet round drivers side, then a short pipe from cooler to short intake
  3. bought another engine off the bay, and began stripping car on Sunday morning, 6 hours later new engine was in and runs sweet as, Found the initial problem aswell, was about to transfer my freshly powder coated inlet but though I'd wash it out due to oil etc in it, To say I was peed off was an understatement when red blasting sand starts coming off the inside of it when washed out with brake cleaner.. So in short engine + sand = dead!!. Spoke to the powdercoater today and I think he is going to contribute towards the repair so not all bad, at least I will make it to e38
  4. Got the car fired up but wasn't right although it reved smoothly without missing, it wouldn't idle, thought it may have been all the build up from turning it over. as there was loads of smoke to start with which soon cleared, anyhoo took it for a wee blast up the road first and second felt as normall until I put it in third and checked my mirror, imagine my surprise when I could see nothing at all, smoke was belching out of the back of it and wasn't clearing!, got it back to the workshop and removed inlet again, only to find the inlet side was full of oil. safe to say its pumped then!!! lol
  5. still no joy with this, even after rebuilding the head etc, still seems to want to start but just wont fire up.. Any ideas???
  6. Yeh I had heard that, but gave me a good excuse to do it, valve stem seals were starting to show signs of wear
  7. Heads off and guess what? Nothing absolutley nowt gasket looked fine valves are carboned up big style but apart from that looks mint, no scoring in block, bores all look good and turns freely, Finishing rebuilding head tomorrow so fingers crossed will have it running...
  8. Did a compression check last night and its got perfect in 2 and 3 but nearly nothing in the other 4!! so head off today hope to find something obvious as is supposed to be going to paintshop at weekend.
  9. I have had the mk3 off the road for about 6 weeks just working on it a bit at a time, been starting it every few days and letting it warm up as usual, Few days ago it stuttered then died, thought it was out of petrol as gauge was off the scale. After putting a couple of gallons in tried to start it with no success. have since replaced plugs and leads and fuel filter without any results, it seems to be trying to start but just wont fire. There has been no warning of this car has been perfect up till now, I am deffo getting a spark, fuel is getting in (loads of pressure at rail and wet plugs) bu
  10. Yes your right lol its 25mm we have on the corsa!!, Oh I sell em by the way lol, They don't do a front at present but they have a spare front of mine just now and are looking at producing them... advantages of mate being one of the top men!!
  11. I ran 7.5 all round and had 20mm adaptors turned down to 17mm was close at the back but didn't rub until on it hoop, The 8.5's would probably fit okay and if they were too much could easily camber the top in a touch..
  12. I have just had mine done to 5x112 but that is the max you could go on std hubs without going all out custom, rears were a doddle, but the front had to be welded all the way round then lathed perfect as its so close to the edge. Remember that as long as the spiggot rings are in and wheel centre properly the wheel nuts only hold the wheel onto the centre and all weight is not on bolts,
  13. I have a huge 25mm whiteline one thats adjustable, and make a huge difference, especially on the air ride.
  14. I ran 9x16 et 15s lowered till axle hits floor, arches rolled and pulled slightly, rubbed when bottomed out, now running 8.5 x 17 et 35 with 10mm spacer and only catched on leading edge of arch, should be pulled in next couple of weeks so can run dropped 140mm without issues apart from floor hitting the road
  15. Cheers folks, its changed loads since UD, and will change more over next two weeks..
  16. Few pics of before and now,,,,, Last June just after respray, running bbs rc's and coilovers.. Then came Air Wheel change Luxury couch Car I thought I was happy with.. but no! saw a set of Lamboughini Diablo SV split rims which would stick miles out due to the 25mm pcd adaptors but then oucht fook aye!! Said rims which I managed to source proper badges for. Thought a hidden tailpipes would look good so welded a set of 90mm downswept to my rear box and flushed the rear bumper off, finishing it off with texture paint and also debadging an old style vento grill and texture painting that
