Alrighty folks having major running issues with the vr, basically ran it down to the paintshop about 5 weeks ago, drove perfect, very quiet and smooth (as it should, its fully rebuilt with new chains/guides/head etc). My painter then did the repair work over the next couple of weeks then moved it into the booth. Its was then masked up and painted. When he went to move it out of the booth it wouldn't start at all ran a bit then cut out. I went down checked the leads and it did fire up and again ran fine eventually as appeared flooded. Now its running on 4, cylinder 2 and 6 are down, replac
  2. Not a huge update but had my wheels redone aswell as my brakes, all running okay just waiting on my management before I can get it set up properly Will hopefully be indoors at UD if painter hurries up!!

  4. Got my Downpipe finished today and wrapped it up in some kevlar wrap. Had to order a schimmel elbow for my inlet as my throttle body was catching the fan switch in the thermostat housing. Hopefully everything else will be done by the time I recieve it.

Got my sump fitted up today, we braised quite a long return pipe on it so there is loads of room for the driveshaft and hose will be above it Also picked up a set of rims for blasting about on when weathers bad.... 15s were too smal for new brakes (when they eventually get here) 17" superlegeras need a refurb but will do as is just now.
  6. Prob a couple of hours work as need all leads off, inlet off before you can get to it..
  7. Rear bench is a vento number straight fit!! Inlet was made by a chap in Germany sells them on ebay.de, really well made and just over £200,
  8. Transcal in Livingston did the interior just over a grand all powdercoating came back today so built it up to make sure its all mint, just altaernator and power steering to fit, new sump with return and a few wires and it should run.

  10. cheers, so is it best to run a fully synthetic when you say 60 or 50 weight I take its that something like 10w60??

  12. couple of more pics to show whats been happening with it recently About 2 weeks before e38 fitted my freshly coated inlet, started car up and it died??? Turned out there was sand stuck inside it and that had destroyed the rings so no compression. picked up a real cheap low mileage mill for £120 off ebay and got stuck in, still made it to e38 so was well chuffed from 2008 e38 In workshop in bits again. Engine now stripped out and has been fitted in my mk2 as it turned a shell.. why you ask? Picked up a mint bottom end and fitted a decompression plate arp head studs and reconned head, new
  13. Sounds like a bad earth if all all lights have failed.. if its just been at bodyshop as per your other post, are the earths all connected at rear lights

  15. I am looking for the part number for the vw head gasket that splits to use with decompression plate, ordered one from vw but its come as a 1 piece
  16. Don't know if its any help but I run a jetex 2.5" on our corsa turbo and its perfect, not too noisy but works well. I have a magnex on my vr which I am going to change to Jetex as the dealer price is well cheap..and think the magnex may be too small for the turbo as its 2.25
  17. wanting to run around 350 to 400 at the fly, wasn't sure on size, I run 3" in my corsa track car and there is virtually no lag at all and its running around 300 bhp. Cheers for replies
