YEAH , i have a head for sale, all good and no bent valves..and as ton says do both the top and bottom chains as this very recentley happended to my mate. headgasket and bolts will cost around 70 quid from euro car parts . rest is relativley cheap , factor around 200 squid all in and it wont be far out.
  2. we vmax'ed mine on the rollers, but that was round 150mph..ill dig the graph out..i also had a indicated 145 on raf marham , before the tubby was added.

  7. er, yeah that'd be cool..you said you wanted a ride in it when it was done. i do have vagcom, but trying to watch a laptop and drive, just aint clever. id would like to try the maf clamp, if only to see what it gonna fo like without the stutter.. im on nights at the mo, but can do any time during the day. or perhaps sat morning..or the bank holiday monday

  11. that'd be good kev. yep im using a begi fmu , on a t4 hybrid. its a bit weird as, if i keep my foot planted from the word go, it'll be fine and pull like a train. but if so as yesterday, im on the a12, and go to increase my speed from say 70mph, ill more than likely get a quite sudden and voilent cut. ive not yet had the car on vag com to confirm it , but my idea was the maf.. not to keen on going 4" maf at the mo, as it entails a whole load of other stuff , which at the mo i dont want..plus theres more than enough power as it is.

  14. hi guys, right car runs fine..but occasionally im getting a cut in power..now its not fuel as we kept a good eye on that at the recent rr day.. but i did notice (although its hard), that the boost gauge peeks at 12 psi..now im running a external wastegate..and was reluctant to run a bleed valve/dawes device..but i now think its the only way to run a constant boost pressure.. i take it that the standard maf will reach it 5v cap at around 11 psi??? if so i reckon its this causing the cut. any sugestions..apart from capping the boost at 10 psi.. btw, i dont have the money for c2 software , and tb
  15. a 1993 on a K, 993 carrera 2 .. i believe these are around 280 bhp..still not enough. got a flash and a thumbs up from him.. made the journey down to get my mate gavs new vr6 all the more enjoyable.

  17. pics are in the build section, but ill take another now its done as its alittle different..and yes its quite a little sleeper.. still dont think im gonna fit the dump valve..but i may chnage my mind. the torque curve is diagonal and the power was at the wheels
  18. i think they are 85-95 pounds ft of torque.. i set mine to 95 , i think ands they are so far fine
  19. er, 258 bhp in 5th as it spun to much in 4th , even did it in 5th.. going back once theve been regritted

  21. well, went to sort the exhaust gasket tonight, but i need to replace al my exhaust studs for bolts, as they wont tighten . im leaving that for another day. i can report that the rr day went well, and the fueling is fine with the boost dependant rrpr. drives loverly, just gotta work out if im gonna fit the dump valve or not.
