  2. he might lose to me lol, but then again, probaly not. i no what you mean about the new breed of repmobiles ..1.9tdi world land speed record breaker . its weird , its taken me a couple of days to get used to it, as im having to aproach corners etc , differently.. i forgot about the momentum the turbo gave..its also hard to scrub it off quickly.
  3. id rather go last , keep the tension and all that.. plus there should be people around to tow me back if it breaks .

  5. vr's eat type r's , standard.. and a boosted one , well i havent had so much fun in ages. best thing is, is that its silent, until i go past you.. kev, perhaps a colchester meet should be arranged, exhchange road stories etc. i remember one of strech's mates (alex i think) had a lotus esprit twin turbo, spent shed loads on it, and i canned him down the 12 in my then 200sx .. i did feel sorry for him, it lasted all of 2 secs , then again so did his engine
  6. hi guys, in a effort to get my air/fuel gauge wired up, i need to no the colour wiring from the vw side of the loom for the lambda.. 4 wires with 4 colours , but my multi meter is dead, and i need it wired in before my rr day on saturday. i no what does what for the lambda . so its only the vw side of things cheers jim

  9. ah , no , only did mine, with the help of some people..but its not that hard, worst bit is head off and then retiming, which tbh aint that bad, the rest is fairly easy, you just gotta think outside the box sometimes

  11. right, here it is my spreadsheet of my costs.. its more or less all there, maybe 20-30 quid in sundries.. i recommend , nice new car , on ebay i got all my hoses from there , next day delivery as standard..for example a 3" 90, was around 11 quid..in 4 ply silicon .. good mopney to me, they also gave me a good discount fro repeat business. apart from that , thx to all , who helped..and ill see everyone at the rr day next week. ive still got stuff to add to the tread and when i have time ill tidy it up and put some more stuff in.
  12. 9 psi, 300 hp .. im running around 9si at the mo, maybe just under..and add the cams on top...that would explain the evo fq340 , that couldnt get rid of me ditto what kev said though, 5th gear on a rr , is plain wrong
  13. yeah the exhaust was rubbing on some heat resistant stuff, was smoudering nicely..i have now modified it suitably i also hope this will be going strong next year, to be fair , i ve had it connect to vag com for the better part of the daty to measure knock, and look at the lambda etc... it only pulls timing as it is on a odd occasion , and only then by 3-6 degrees. im leaving as is until the rr day, then we'll see how far i can go..
  14. quick update, i confirm it keeps with the evo fq340...
  15. well, i need a vac feed to my turbo wastegate, so at the mio , its on spring pressure, and its also leting boost creep out..so hopefully when i start it today it'll change ..i also plugged my inetrcooler holes last night, and removed the cat..goes twice as good as it did last time..just got the lamda's to connect and im away. i may go c2 software at a later date, but it runs very well as it is..the tirbo was a gamble, but it a t/3 oe hybrid, so it should be well suited to the vr's engine..it wont help, that i still have boost leaks and other things that need sorting.
  16. yeah just under, or maybe just over, if it did go over it was by 50 quid..ill add up the rest of the bills later. i want more boost now, but until its fuelled properly , im leaving it at 6 psi.. still it pulls well, just doesnt make ful boost till 4000 rpms, but i have a plan for that.
  17. well, it has a boost leak, and i did have a small engine fire (some engine padding).but, it seems to pull well, but i need to feed a vacum feed to the external wastegate, as its leaking boost, then it'll be a good drive wih vagcom connected, and then some fine tunning of the fuel..
  18. jake , as you know, im more track/drag than show n shine, but its still quite stealthy, last few bits will be don tonight, im off to hitchin sunday, so i may take it there and then back to essex, it will be a good run for it.

  20. no what you mean...ive been driving a 1.3 diesel van for a few months , so anyhting is quicker than that i am impressed though, and i think the cams workl very well midrange.. just need to get the boost in a bit earlier.

  22. yeah sure am , im also doing the south rr day this saturday as i said on my build thread , i just hope i can get the turbo spooling a bit earlier, once i have connected a boost feed to the external wastgate...
