Ive got a strange problem, all the interior lights work when you switch them on but wont operate when you open a door( yes I have checked the position of the switch!) also the door lights dont come on, as I havnt bought a workshop manual yet I have no electrical schematics.and was hoping someone could shed light on this. Ive checked all the fuses and there ok.

Thats funny you mentioned that about the themostat because it has just been changed, Ill check theres plenty of coolant in though.

I havent had the sharan long and noticed the engine temp gauge sits smack in the middle but on the computer it says engine oil temp 110 when on the motorway. Its steady at this but just seems a little hot to me. What Im really askin is is this normal or is there something i can adjust to bring the temp down. Ive checked the fan cuts in but again it just seems high to me as it comes on when the gauge reaches 3/4.

Ive just bought a sharan vr6 96 from a dealer I havent picked it up yet but when seeing it, it looked in very good condition with 83000 on the clock.Ive seen lots theads on various forums regarding cylinder head gasket faults and now Im panicing !! Ive done quite a lot of work on Fords and Vauxhalls engine changes etc but know very little about the vr6 engine. Before i drive out the showroom I want to be sure there not selling me a car with a blown head gasket what signs should I be looking for? any help would be great.cheers *-)
