  1. Ahh yes Vince is a top bloke would have no problem recommending Stealth Racing for any work to be done
  2. Engine numbers upto 21700 have the double chain type and from 21701 have the single top chain
  3. Yeah just as Kev says thats the minimum size for a VR6 next up would be T04E or a GT3076R the latter would be my choice
  4. K03 would be a bit small how about a T3/4 they can be picked up fairly cheap
  5. Hey Kev I cant wait to see you car in person have seen plenty of pics of the evolution of your rado I think its time to see it for real I know I wont be dissapointed
  6. The engine will run while the cam sensor is unplugged it will throw up a fault code alright I have a couple of standard sets of cams I will throw up a pic wont be untill the morning thought at this stage
  7. Hold the CV joint straight with one hand and a big hammer in the other with the shaft in a vice and a few good taps should sort it out
  8. Try www.SPTurbo.com in the US they do JE custom pistons Before ordering pistons I would have the bores checked If there is excessive ware I would go for a rebore with 82mm forged pistons otherwise it could be a costly mistake
  9. Well Shane the bora is looking well I ddidnt know you were on here BTW grocery getters are diesels
  10. 4 wheels are way better than 2 Patrick ; ) White Mk2's just rock and espically with a VR6 Turbo and awd
  11. Yeah I had thought about it for a short while but I bought the level 3 shafts helix autosport paddle clutch and an SP Turbo lightened flywheel all for 02A gearbox, I will run it for a while and see how it goes can always change over at a later date. I will be only running 15/16 psi so it should last for a while I also seen that VR6 specialist do 02M to fwd conversion kits too not bad price either
  12. GT42RS FTW !! There is a lot of top notch bits going into the syncro alright lets see how long it lasts though Was it you that was running an SQS 5 speed strong syncro gearset ? The time has come to be getting a gearset for my passat VR6 Turbo I was thinking of quaife but have heard a bit of bad news about them in VRT's
  13. Nice pics Driveshafts are made as ordered afaik I have a set of level 3 500hp for a B3 passat and a set of level 5 750 hp for a mk3 with 02M R32 gearbox ( will befitted to my syncro running widetrack) not the cheapest but well worth it
  14. That DP is a sweet bit of kit, You are certinally doing it right this time Kevin If your welder wants a few quid to duplicate one up for me I would gladly pay him
  15. Yeah I hope to make this too lots of work to get done first' date=' I also hope to have the Mk2VR6 Turbo 4 motion at this will be spending lots of time on the quarter mile sprinting tho LOL [/quote'] Ok I am out my other half is due a baby on the 21st of june and I dont want to be too cheeky in sneaking off to the UK for a car show, I havent had much time to be online lately
  16. Yes you have to remove the timing chain cover as it is pressed into it, You can simply take a hammer and chisel to it when knocking it out note where it sits for when you are tapping the new seal in best to use a 6 or 7mm centre punch and go easy tapping it back into position
  17. PM sent Patrick but having internet troubles here at the moment so dont worry if you get 5/6 pm's LOL
  18. Here is a cheap enough kit Patrick http://www.dutchbuild.com/product_info.php?cPath=17_50&products_id=29 When fitting an 02M gearbox into a mk2/3 shell you need an 02M gearbox mount and modify an 02A front engine mount DB used to sell them already modified making it an easier way to convert over, The subframe needs to be modded by moving the gearbox flange forward by roughly 10/12mm (to clear the subframe mounts)
  19. Top work as ever Mr wire
  20. Yeah GSF sell it make sure your aux water pump is working before you fill up with coolant
  21. Vince @ stealth racing can supply you a sytec drop in fuel pump to replace your OEM one, I got one last month for £105+vat and he includes a small adapter thats needed to install them They are a great pump and the one I got is good for 500hp, I had a lower output one in my Mk3 VR6 supercharged and it worked a treat was good for just over 300hp. I would go for a new pump everytime and espically if you are going to up the power in the near future
