can someone pls tell me if this is correct? the engineers who are building my 2.9 bottom end say that it says in there book that they need to replace main and bigend bolts with new ones? is this right? or can i just use the old ones?..thanks
went 2 my engineers 2day.. ordered bits.. stripped my gd 2.8 engine and removed crank to go in my 2.9.. got engine stand.. so all is lookin well.. crank is being polished, block is getting homed out.. new rings .. and shells etc.. minter.. slip it in next weekend..
haha..cheers.. popped 2 shells in 2nite cleaned oil pump out refitted sump.. filled with cheap oil.. and she runs!! just hope it lasts til my other engine is completed!!

took sump off 2nite... found why my car smokes on over run..lol found 2 oil rings hanging out off the oil pick up pipe!!! and one bigend has spun... crank looks ok tho.. im going to bodge it .. and fit 2 shells ive got.. this is just until my other 2.9 engine is built should be 2 weeks max.. i know its not the best thing to do.. but i have to take the chance ive got no transport.. and its doing my head in!!! i'll post sum pics 2moz im not at home so cant... mess tho..lol
140k.. bottom end is knackered.. thats why ive got to other engines 2.8 and 2.9, but both are un finished..lol dont worry folks will be fixed by UD's!!!!
dropped my bigends racing TT, now my engine goes donk,donk,donk!!! thanx for anna for driving to oxford to save me!!! i still have oil pressure, but bottom end is knocking bad!! could i get away with just replacing shells???
ive had loads of different filters.. most aftermarket filters sound good.. ive got a CDA at the mo.. ok if u have the money to spare.. if not a big ram air, itg, k&n etc
