  1. not to mention the last owner change was april last year and he reckons to have owned it for two years or since he had the work done any ways.
  2. Holy CRAP !! Years in prison: 61.5 Potential fine: £4500 Plus a possibility of the death penalty!
  3. Ahh right, so I need to run it up and get it hot and see then . makes sense really I suppose. I just didnt want to fit it and find that there was another issue. So I guess I'll do it after work tomorrow then. Nice one cheers Kevin. BTW was £75 from gsf if anyone was interested and a gen Bosch one too.
  4. Right theres been a little development , I walked into GSF today and bought a new pump.. hurrah Got home let it cool down a bit and whipped off the cover and just out of curiosity plugged it in and it worked a treat so I switched the ignition off to see if it ran on after and it didnt . Are they supposed to ? my bros does. Any reason why it shouldnt run on ? relay ? Any suggestions anyone ?

No .. NO.. def not my cup of tea at all but read it again... he was well tucked up !!
  6. Just a thought but BT are always looking for engineers, one of my buddies just retrained at their expence at the ripe old age of 36. hes got an ok wage but it improves nicely with time and experience . May be worth a look ,

MINT !! well tucked up !!
  8. Not much really. A can of petrol normally surfices with the caalytic addition of naked flame if course. I'm jealous too !!
  9. Use rubber gloves in the future instead of foil. A miles better idea and they fit over nearly everythiing.
  10. Well, after checking it out earlier there is the correct voltage to the pump and the pump is showing no resistance thus pointing the finger at the motor being burnt out. So it's new pump time. Thanx for the pointers.
  11. Sorry I'm slow responding the suns been a great lure. Thanx for the replies though. I'll go check it out this evening when it cools down a bit. Just out of curiosity, has anyone got an idea on price from the stealers or do gsf do them or has anyone got one spare for sale?
  12. ok so how do i check out the auxillary water pump then ? It doesnt come on when you put the ignition on and it doesnt stay on after either. Any easy checks i could do ? or is it just take it off and inspect it ? If it's knacked then bin and replace ? Do they have their own relay ? if so which one . I've checked all the fuses and theyre all good. It's been like it for 18 months now with no detrimental effects or so it would seem.
  13. So I hear Beckham is not going to play in the world cup unless they buy him a new car after hearing that Rooney is getting a cortisone injection to play.
  14. pay unto others as they have paid unto you with interest
  15. When going down to the Ace last summer on the A1 I had a long high speed pursuit with a SLK 350. He was ringing its neck too, he was most surprised at an indicated 145 that i crept past and he had nowt left, smiled from ear to ear. We nodded respectfully to each other and I let him go in front (my radar was going mad at this point)
  16. My buddy pauly had his fourmotion done by a firm in Bury St Edumds and its been with them mor than it has with him, he regrets getting it done , but I thin hes the exception to the rule, when it ran , it ran well and it made the car a cheap thing to run but now he just wants it back.
  17. my bro inlaw has the same wheels on his mk3 and has had no end of tyre issues and he is progressivly going down in size. I suggested 205/40/17 but he wanted not to have a stretched look and is on 215/40/17 he is very close to the arches (rolled) but has no touching as yet, he had to adjust the ride height to suit a little though and gets a better ride nmow as he has softened the ride up on the damper.
  18. My buddy Pauly went one size larger than the R32 which took him to 21mm(i think), the guy at awesome said the 25 was really for track cars and you would find it too much.
  19. The rears dont do much braking at the best of times they normally are around 20-23% efficiency. Does the handbrake stick on/off as its this part that normally siezes up? Giving the pedal a good hard long press even sat still will/should help then go and give it a good long drive using the brake as much as you can.
  20. The worse thing is I have to continue being "normal" to the guy as he is the gamekeeper on the farm i have carte blanche to shoot on and dont want to spoil that privillage. It's all back and safe again , plus i ran it on the brake rollers first just to be sure that nothing was going to snarl up or fowl, I'd rather it did it there than on the road when there are others possibly involved. I smiled all the way home, enjoying the ride not listening to the rumble but to the warble of the six off the builings and trees, yup fun again.
  21. Well, it actually got worse, much to my frustration. I whipped the hub off and my neighbour who works in a local garage says to me he'll pop the old bearing out for me and press the new one in, now im not keen on this guys work hes a bit slap dash for me and having been a snap on dealer I heard from the current dealer he had lots of call backs. But this aside its a wheel bearing, what harm can it cause?.............. he bent the lugs for the caliper carrier on the hub causing me all kinds of issues. I quietly seethed and swore not to let him so much as look at the car from now on. So monday mo
  22. I never use the supermarkets and try my hardest to use esso if not then its shell or BP. When the VR went on the RR at tsr it was on good ole normal unleaded and came in at a very healthy figure of a little smidge over 170 at the wheels. I watch fuel consumption like a hawk as I drive the best part of a hundred thousand miles a year and I have to pay for my own fuel. I have over 20 years come to the conclusion that there is not alot between them but I do manage to consistantly get more mpg from Esso. There seems no ryhme or reason to this it's just how the receipts tally up.
  23. Sorry but have you got a pic of the keyfob and the alarm unit as i have been wondering about what was fitted to the highline i own. i told norwich union its alarmed but didnt kjnow which one but they wernt too worried but it would be nice to know. Ta
  24. thats the hvac pipe ,If you go to vw they want to sell you the whole thing as they love to split but if you take yourself down to fords they use the same vr engine in the galaxy and you can get just the bit you want for around £20 where as vw want the best part of a ton. I may be wrong about this but im pretty confident. I have replaced mine before from a scrapper for less than a tenner , it may cause lumpy running and your fuel consumption will improve once done.
