  1. Today's efforts have been pretty poor to be honest as I've been flat arsed tired and suffered massive lethargy, but on the upside I did do a full service on my T5 lwb transporter today. I managed to get the wheels on and the crap cleared off of the top of it and pulled it outside only to run it out of fuel (school boy error) and by then I just wanted to sweep my workshop out and go to bed. But I did take a couple of pics with it outside and it's wheels on. It does look so nice, I am now so excited about painting the front that I think I'll do the rear bumper at the same time.
  2. After packing my tools away I grabbed a battery and slung it in. Surprise surprise the ecu had lost the keys. Grrrrr. Vagcom out. Made it see the keys and happy days it started on the second try. Happy is not the word. The idle is a little lumpy but I think may be due in part to this breather valve.... any body got one ? Are they available still from Ford as I'm not paying vw a small fortune when they're £20 elsewhere. So this afternoon I feel like I have achieved a fairly large step towards its recovery especially as hearing that VR rumble is just magic, it's love all over again.
  3. Red bull ingested, I've sealered everything in sight and then some just in case. I masked up the nearside sill, cleaned the shutz gun, did a little dance with my 3 year old boy whilst listening to faithless 'insomnia' and shaking the stone chip. I got busy with the fizzy and here's the results below. Despite being black it's not a bad finish and once set will take paint a treat (or so I'm assured) So tomorrow's d-day and it's wheels on and out you must go.
  4. So once I've been to the shop for me red bull I'm going to bodyseal both sides of the floor repairs then shutz the lot. Then it's time to mask up and stone chip it and leave it to dry.
  5. Today's efforts..... [url=http://s.photobucket.com/user/casper1967/media/Mk3%20Vr6%20highline/20140505_151834.jpg.html]
  6. Well, this hasn't turned out like it should have....by a very long chalk. Life, like it does twists and turns and mine did and this sat dormant until a few months back when I braved pulling it in the workshop armed with nothing more than a huge love for it and an overbearing guilt of leaving it stuck on my rear drive. I put up on axle stands and just touched the front wings where they met the sills...I gave it a gentle prod and about three inches of rusty wing just fell on the floor. I could have cried as I knew how far and how badly mk3's can rot. So it was with trepidation I pulled the wing
  7. Yes you deffo need 4 x 6mm spacers and the longer bolts. I fitted them up with new bolts off of the car and trimmed the bolts flush to the back of the flange. Incidentally I have a set of purpose made said spacers spare I'd be prepared to sell.

  9. Drive shaft catching the chassis. Raise the car or chassis notch it. At a guess mind.
  10. I'd look at rosstech wiki, and see what those code relate to exactly.
  11. I cant believe no one can answer these questions !! Someone must know !
  12. Right, I've bought back my old highline and found a nice 3 door mk2 shell to transplant everything from one to the other. My questions... 1. As I'm moving everything across, will the air con and abs fit ? 2. Can I move all the dash (evaporator for a/c) all across too ?(obviously cut to fit) 3. Anyone know where I can get a custon rad and condenser made as I want to fit itb's and have a direct feed through the grill to the itb;s 4. Would kenlowes be strong enough to cool the a/c condenser ? Ta muchy.
  13. He left school to get a job next to his older brother. He then got so good at polishing they put him on all the HQ/VIP work for lear and focker. Maclaren tried to poach him to finish items for them but he didn't want tomove house. We did speak about him staining a knob in black with this hardwearing lusterous laquer on so if anyone fancies it he could d that, He liked my highline knob so much he bought one from the bay last night and he'll use that as a trial for the staining. Good though init.
  14. One of my mates was round the other day and we were chatting about what he does for a living, he polishes the interior of lear jets. what this came down to was he applies some stuff called ceramalac which is ceramic based laquer. So I gave him my highline knob and the results were so impressive I had to show you. The ceramalac is applied in situations where the item is going to be handled alot and its as hard as billyo so shouldnt scratch or chip in five minutes like most laquers do/will. He spent a good hour polishing it to this lustre after it had cured. He smoothed out the top of the knob w
