Hi I've seen this advertised on Ebay (so taking what they say with a pinch of salt!) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/G60-G-60-Supercharger-brand-new-TOP_W0QQitemZ8013847451QQcategoryZ72205QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Will this fit my golf? Or will many hours of labour be required? If it will fit my car what is the general quality of the G60 like? Does it last well? Thanks Matt

Do you have a website for Strictly Dubs? And I would definitely like to buy a BMC kit for 140. Who is selling the BMC kit? I want to utilize the standard cold air feed for the standard air filter. I have been told this is very straight forward and is almost opposite the front of the BMC. Is it just a case of getting some samco hose or similar and connecting it that way? By the way I don't have air con so that won't get in the way.

Cheap place to buy 17" alloys with tyres?

Thanks for your replies... what is edition 38? Do they have a website? -
Could it be my coilpack? What else could it be? Bearing in mind my car is absolutely fine after ten mins.

Hi My car is occasionally quite juddery for the first five to ten minutes when it is cold...more often when it's wet (but happens when it's dry too). When I press the gas pedal it judders. Ten minutes later it's all fine and smooth. I have been told on here it's likely to be caused by damp. Will replacing all the HT leads cure this problem? Thanks for any info. Matt

I may be totally wrong but aren't a lot of the dash lights supposed to flash once or twice (such as ABS / airbag and oil etc) once the engine is first turned on? I'm pretty sure the ABS light flashes a couple of times then goes out when the car is started. The handbook says something about this being routine. Can anyone confirm about the oil light? I will check in the morning.

Hi I was planning on getting a BMC induction kit fitted which has its own heat shielding. However a couple of companies have said a normal ram air induction kit does not suffer at all from heat soak in the engine bay (unless the car is stationary). I'm a bit cautious about this as everywhere I have read has said any induction kit (in order to actually get a little power gain) needs to have some kind of heat shielding due to the relatively high heat emitted by the vr6. Am I right in assuming a BMC will be more effective than a normal unshielded induction kit or is there going to be no differ

Cheap place to buy 17" alloys with tyres?

Anyone? There must be some good alloy wheel tyre packages out there that have been used by people on here? -
I did read an article the other week when they were reviewing the new R32 that there may be an R36 on the books in a couple of years... although I'm not sure if they will go ahead with it. Would be interesting! The new R32 has 250bhp and quoted 0-60 of 6.1. I think the performance speaks for itself... I only think the styling could have been more unique and bolder (only my personal view though).

Hi I've just read an article about a tuning company in Performance VW magazine called "The Phirm" who they highly rate. The article is on page92 where they fit FK coilovers to a nice Corrado. I'm not sure if they are a full engine tuning company or whether they are just specialists in wheels / suspension etc. They are based in Surrey which is not too far from me as I live in the south and was wondering if anyone here has used them? The magazine says they really recommend them... I may look them up when I get my suspension fitted ... wanted to first find out from anyone on here how good th

Hi I'm looking to buy some 16" or 17" alloys (ideally an alloy wheel plus tyre package) without spending a fortune. I have had a look for months on Ebay and on this site for some decent second hand bargains without any luck unfortunately. I'm after a bbs style alloy (not necessarily the BBS make but the bbs multispoke style - same as the 15" standard design ones except a larger 16" or 17" to fill my arches). Please can anyone recommend any manufacturers that do a bbs multispoke design but good value and any websites that do really good alloy wheel tyre packages that don't cost a fortune?

WARNING about clicky CV Joints / UJ's
matth76 replied to Devilfish's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Mine makes a whurring noise when I do a 3-point turn or similar and the customary "power steering" hissing sound when it is right on full lock but not a clicking noise. I have assumed the whurring noise is just the power steering and the fluid. Or am I wrong? Is the clicking very distinct and very different from a whurring noise? I had a full service only in August. How much is it to get the CV joints sorted at a garage? -
I saw a view of a VR6 which had standard 15" bbs alloys and looked lowered. It was parked up in a car park but didn't see it drive anywhere as I didnt see the rest of the bill. Wish I had.

The avi file couldn't open.

I don't think the mark5 gti is 4 wheel drive (I may be wrong)...I'm pretty sure it's front wheel.

Hi I've noticed a couple of small nicks/dents in the side strip (colour coded bit that juts out half way up underneath the windows) that goes along the sides of the car. The area in question is on the driver door. Can the side strip be replaced easily or is the whole door permanently fixed to the side strip?

Looks like the pressure of the water took it off mate ... when the front of the car hits a relatively deepish puddle it can be like hitting concrete... at least the water didn't cause any more damage.

Has anyone seen the new Subaru Impreza...it's aweful? The Jetta above blows it away.
