  1. the other systems i have had on my other vw`s have been a supersprint on the rallye, that was a nice system and sebrings on my mk 1`s they are nice systems too, the magnex is supposed to be a nice system for the vr i think its quite loud though! if your going to E38 on the Sunday you can have a listen to mine see what you think
  2. its a jetex 2 1/2 inch stainless cat back system, with the "leterbox" tailpipe, its a really nice fitting system and sounds nice but is not too loud unless you absolutely nail it! it sounds really nice under acceleration was about
  3. sounds like a little rocket, my mate had a mk3 16v and that used to be able to give me a real run for my money in the rallye! (it was a standard rallye at that time though!) he had a bit more trouble when it got to 220 bhp!! really nice engine the 2.0 16v and i still love the mk2 style, made me miss mine again happy with the vr though
  4. he he i had the same mate! 84k and it still had its original system on!! lasted well that one, if you look at the over axle pipe there are marks on the pipe where to cut it for renewal best to use an air saw when its up on a ramp is the easiest way to do it

  6. as long as the front is white and the rear is yellow and both are reflective and readable with proper sized digits and numbers most coppers dont give a monkeys nads! its only really the cox with italic plates on an escrote cabritoilet that get stuck on!!
  7. yeah thats the fella vw done away with the blue stuff now and gone to this gear, it is still pink like the old g12 though !shy
  8. think the rear set up is completely different tbh the front is simmilar but again quite a few differences, it would probably be just as effective to fit uprated discs and pads imo and if you only have 280mm brakes go to the later 288mm set up it would be more cost effective and you know it will work properly you dont want to compromise when it comes to being able to stop!!!!!
  9. sounds like it needs recharging to me, if the pumps working as it should then it must just be low on refrigerant
  10. will it be back for E38???????ps let me know about them hella lamps you got!!!
  11. mine hasnt used any oil since its last service at 84k just over 85k now
  12. thats harsh dude! really gutted for you, it seems however "right" your car seems to get something always bites you on the arse! looks quite a light bang though all cosmetic panels and lights will be back on the road before you know it, same thing happened to my mk1 gti just got it all spot on and some dick weed hit it up the arse with a landrover! got it all repaired again and it was fine, just pisses you off at the time !sad
  13. pleased you got what sounds like a very nice car! pictures!!!! need pictures!!
  14. as far as my experience goes with the fk kit its not harsh and has a nice ride comfort also has a good set damping rate, you can get a mild drop or a massive one! started too low i think!! you couldnt see the tops of the tyres! looked the bolox but not practicle! handling is good too, i was initially gonna go for the konigsports but like you once i had set it i wouldnt touch it again so the extra sheckles werent worth it to me, the quality of the springs and legs is very good too as you would expect from german manafacture (if your gonna change your suspension get new top mounts and bearings
  15. it does look a bit like some sort of supresor? possibly to stop alternator and other electrical interference?
  16. if you have let water run down on the starter whilst working near it? check the earths on the starter first and give it a tap as suggested, it definately sounds like you have a flat/knackered battery though my rallye used to do that exact same thing to me every week!!! Grrrr how annoying is that, the dash light flicker is what i used to get too and all the same noises, if you charge that battery up (24hrs at least) and then put it back on i bet it will start, then you can get it volt tested.
  17. no worries mate, the earlier black top bumpers can be painted its just a bit more work to smooth them for the painter! if you get it cheap though cool!
  18. i got a brand new genuine vw front bumper for mine a couple of weeks back, the later type comes in primer ready to paint it was about
  19. I got RH ones with my alloys, they are 25mm and you get the low headed bolts and hub ring etc, the quality of them is very high they are 5x100 - 5x112 fitment have had no problems with them at all and they fit the hub perfectly. i think porche ofset is et 60 so these would be wide enough but you would need 130 bolt hole pattern i think? try www.tunershop.co.uk they may be able to source them for you or even have them on the shelf?
  20. suppose it would be hard to replicate air cooling the entire underneath of the car like when driving and certainly not at those revs!!! when i had my rallye worked on at jabba sport they had a j reg supercharged vr6 corrado on the rollers! that was getting a real beasting too! sounded like a harrier jump jet taking off!
  21. oops! "it was at a funny angle"
