if you have pictures of your car (ie interior, exterior, engine bay, evidence of its condition) that should help your case - a friend of mine had a scooby which was stolen and they tried it on but he had a full set of detailed pics which helped his case

that's a class thread ! its quite common to see iffy descriptions on there - it's also wierd how so many of them seem to have low mileage yet when you go to a show you hardly see any ..... strange that -
will do tomorrow - to be honest it's not noticeable or i wouldn't have it in my car ! as i've said paid £30 for in effect a brand new one from germany boxed etc which to me was preferable to one used - and peeps seemed to be getting greedy on ebay (uk) with them !
-
hi there mate - i also bought a brand new fischer cd holder from ebay.de - it cost me about £ 30 including shipping and it was new and boxed - yes it does fit by obviously has been designed for LHD cars ... there is a slight slant to the left when it's installed into a RHD but not noticeable unless you're a complete purist - i'm happy with mine for the money as peeps on ebay were wanting captain silly money for RHD ones ! all ok sanky ? chhers !
-
does anyone know the definitive figure for the production run of the vr6 highline - i'm aware that 1 in 20 of the Mk3 Golfs were VR6's but have always wondered how many highlines were sold in the UK ?!?!?!?!??!?!? !amazed
-
ive got a k&n panel filter and it seems to very slightly improve the performance - they also last the lifetime of the engine if you oil them accordingly ! - i was told the cone filters are useless except for more noise as they draw the hotter engine air .......... rolling road figures seem to back this up !!!
-
count me in please .... the highline needs a spring run out !
-
mine had a full service at C&R enterprises Nottingham - very pleased with what they did and they know the VR6 engine - i'd recommend them

my vr needs a service now ........ has anyone used the above based in notts as i understand they are vr6 specialists .... i'm just wary of having it done by a run of the mill garage and vw might be a bit pricey ......... anyone used them ? i've just received the Bentley's manual covering the VR6 engine so would this suffice for someone who can just about change the oil and plugs on a mk2 GTi ????? cheers !lol -

sanky is that lip the piece of flat metal pointing towards the ground where the arrow is ? its just that i normally jack my car up using a support (part of the underbody) about 2 inches in from the sill - am i doing this wrong ? (ps need to know after knackering one of the solitudes !!!) - cheers - Adrian. -
lol ..... nah packed in last week ..... probably because being stored now ... will have to get the overalls out !!

let us know sanky if this starts up .... would be happy to pop up to Leeds for a meet ! only 50 miles from sunny Chesterfield !!!! -
yes mate are you interested in buying one ? lol ... looks great in my highline and will get some 4 by 2 from jewsons to sort the dash out lol ... but seriously well happy with the steering wheel and was nice meeting you .... shame me 8 valver has packed in lol .... bloody Gti's .....
-
i've recently had eibach lowering springs and koni sports adjustable shocks fitted to my vr6 - perfect set up but not the cheapest - but if you're driving a VR6 then i wouldn't personally go for a cheaper option - at the end of the day you're driving a decent car which can still outperform (with the suspension sorted) cars far more expensive .... dont be afraid to spend a bit on the suspension !!
-
i know mate ...... after seeing what some locals around here are doing to Mk3's (ie trying to make them look like overdressed vr6's but with either a 1.4 or 1.8 engine in it) its best left alone to a degree !
-
yep binliner just fitted it and its got a slight slant to it but looks ok - nice cheap addition to the car !
-
it will be on the V5 if its a genuine highline ....
-
anyone seen the latest edition of the above with the articles about the new Mk5 R32 ? just wondered what the comment inferring that VW had made the same mistake with the new r32 as the mk3 vr6 meant ? its in the article towards the end mentioning R32's, V6 4motions etcd ???? any ideas for this simpleton ? !sad
-
7 seconds for an OBD2 unmodified car should be the norm so officially classed as a 'quick' car - could you really tell the difference between 7 secs and 6.4 secs for an R32 ? as for Type R's ....... there's no comparison in terms of build quality (if you have been in one you'll know what i mean !!!)
-
have got a rear spoiler on my highline which is not an original metallic black painted one - the one on it is the bog standard unpainted grey plastic - without being nieve is it a simple job to spray it in the pearlescent black to get it looking like the original one - or do I need to use any primer on the plastic ??? any help appreciated !!!
-
i was bidding on one on ebay tonight and it got to
-
dont worry sanky ......... leaving as vw intended !!!! dont intend turning it into a chavtastic highline !!!
