    having now got a full wooden steering wheel fitted to my highline, someone has told me that it was also possible to get other wooden parts which fit the facia and replace the plastic indicator sticks etc - i suspect this is a windup though does anyone know if vw or votec did indeed make these 'extras' ? cheers !

    thanks sanky but thats where i had it done ! wont type what i think about them since once the suspension was fitted both rear wheel bearings went though no doubt totally unconnected - when we speak on the phone next will let you know my views as dont want to libelled on here lol !

    ... have had my vr lowered on eibach springs and koni sports shocks - a gr8 improvement ! however the front o/s wheel looks slightly out of alignment (ie looks like bottom of the wheel is slightly further in than the top - if you know what i mean !!) .......... the last thing i want is the tyre to blow due to uneven pressures etc ...... is there a simple fix for this or a case of back to the garage that did it ? cheers

    yep the car defo feels a bit more responsive now n a bit noisier ! every little helps i suppose !

    ..... just fitted one of these today .... does this genuinely add to the performance of a standard VR6 'AAA' engine ? went out for a spin this afternoon and it seemed to pull better but that was probably down to my imagination !! ?? !! ??

    i didnt realise until e38 that there was an optional extra half wood / full wood steering wheel available - if anyone has one of these (or knows where i could get one !) for sale please let me know - cheers - Adrian.

    recently had eibach springs and koni sport adjustable shocks added - lowered by 30mm - car handles superbly now and sticks to the road especially around bends - also looks better lowered though have kept the standard appearance - wasn't cheap but well worth it !

    thanks for the comments ..... it ended up being the wheel bearings which went (no doubt due to stiffer suspension ....... should be able to make it to E38 now !!! cheers

    hadnt even thought of it being a knocking exhaust - hope its as simple as that as want to get to E38 in it !!!

    ... just had eibach springs and koni shocks fitted .... handling is now great but there is an intermittent knocking noise coming from the rear of the car now .... the noise is most noticeable when I decelerate to a stop, though the knocking noise stops when i gently apply the brakes .... ive jacked the car up to look for anything that's obviously loose but can't find anything .... any ideas (car is back at garage tomorrow but am trying to understand whats wrong) ? cheers.

    ive just had mine done with koni sport shocks and eibach spings lowered by30mm - the ride quality and handling is excellent - though wasnt exactly a cheap option !!!

    yep i agree i'll visit vw to get an original one if they still have them in stock !!! i suspected one had been nicked since the glass is vw original patented but the finish on the spoiler is a wee bit pants !!! hope its a pretty easy job to replace ???? any ideas ? cheers - wanna get it sorted for E38 !!!

    yes it's definitely a highline as it's on the V5 as one and i bought it from vw !! im just wondering if the rear tail fin should match the black pearlescent paint or whether (as on mine) its dull grey .... the rear windscreen looks original so am wondering if its had a replacement tailfin but one from a standard VR6 not a highline .... any ideas ?? cheers.

    yes the scirocco was nitrous fuel injected and race prepared so your vr6 did really well !! was nice to see a very quick pretty standard looking VR6 !! just squaring off a trip to tatton park with the mrs (though will be GTi for that probably) .... looking forward to E38 !

    ive got a vr6 highline ...... the rear tail fin on it is not in black pearlescent paint effect so am unsure if its an original one .... did all highlines have the fin same colour as the bodywork ???

    it was ok on the saturday just a wee bit quiet ....... i enjoyed seeing anoraks 300 bhp going around the track .... there were some good track cars there .... just need a decent scratchcard to add an R32 to the collection !!!
