    if its anything serious it will deteriate, the pulling will get worse and more regular. mines exactly the same, i ve had wheel alignment checks, wheels balanced, i know suspensions fine so i put it down to torque steer. on a bumpy road in 1st and 2nd its quite lively! i drove my mates focus RS, torque steer on the golf is nothing compared to them things - as soon as it hits boost the steering goes mental!

    when the cars being driven below about 40mph or with only a small amount of throttle it seems to splutter. as soon as you accelerate or go over 40mph it stops. idles a bit lumpy too. any ideas? is it a problem that can be caused by a dirty ISV? changed the camshaft sensor recently and the cars run loads better since, was told that the crankshaft sensor was faulty too. would this cause the dodgy splutter? im keen on getting the car chipped but would like to solve all the little problems first. thanks.

    i had 125(kph);0 out of mine chasing "on a track" a corrardo vr6. the previous owner said he had 145 out of it. also raced a saab 95 tdi and was all over it like a rash, it was painfuly slow then i realised it was a 1.9!! all those who have had 150+ out of there vr, they must be tuned right?

    i ve been out in an mr2 turbo and damn that thing was fast!! was great fun on bends, as it accelerated thru it came on boost and you end up going broadside thru the corner! also what would a black standard L reg 3door vr6 be worth with 86k on the clock with full service history?

    i need to adjust the offside headlight for the MOT as the beam is low but i cant see any obvious place to adjust it? could someone tell me where abouts the adjustment is made? cheers.

    that hail is crazy! was driving back from london saturday on the m11 and the rain was coming down so hard it was difficult to see beyond the bonnet, just aquaplained most of the time. next thing i know the sun is shinning and i have to open the window as it is so warm. its madness.

    i ve got toyo proxo's on the front of my golf and they're really good in the wet as well as the dry! got yoko's on the back and they're crap in the wet!

    im not bothered with coilovers and all that. i think the gap between the top of the wheel and the wheel arch is a bit too much particuarly on the front so i just want to reduce it. with a 35mm drop it shouldnt rub with the standard 15" wheels should it? and the sump will still clear right?

    mines now completly standard with the airbox on and you can hardly hear the engine, just finished doing a long journey in it and im really glad i put the airbox back, felt so much smoother.

    yeah im sticking with o.e shocks. i think the mk3's look great with lower suspension but i need to do it as cheap as poss.

    i did toy with the idea of putting a cold air feed in but its all a bit tight in that area with the ram air fitted. its sooo quiet without the induction kit, you forget how loud they are!!

    yeah i reackon it was hot air from engine. noticable difference in running when hot and cold!! coullstar: i may sell the ram air but too sure as it does look and sound great! make me an offer.

    whats the best ride height to lower a vr6 to on standard shocks and 15" BBS rims?

    i removed the induction kit from my vr6 and to my amazement the car runs better with the standard airbox fitted!! as much as i love the growl from the induction kit i think its going to stay off. now the cars running better (specaily after replacing a faulty camshaft sensor) im seriously thinking of getting it chipped, any recommendations as to which chip? anyone else had similar experiences with induction kits and airboxes? feedback appreciated.

    headgaskets dont need breaking in. some cars have a learning system where it learns how you drive and adjusts various things ie timing air/fuel mixture etc so you get best performance for your driving condition dont know if the vr is the same? perhaps later 1s? but over time engines will "loosen up" and tend to produce a couple more bhp which the vr does. mine is making 10bhp more than vw claim and thats a standard engine!! i think everyone on here can say the same about their vr

    good advice appreciate your help acf. im gona take advantage of the good weather and do the camshaft sensor this afternoon! know this has been asked before but where can i purchase 1 of these bently manuals? are they the 1s being sold for £8.99 on ebay? 1 more question whats the best way of testing the hall sensor?
