insurance on a vr6 for a 18 year old with 1 years no claims
vr6matt replied to golfa's topic in General Chat
Thats exactly what my dad said! lol I do not regret getting my VR at 19, some people thought I was stupid and I would not be able to handle it, but I have proved them wrong, took it easy for the first few months, and now I can drive it quick with confidence if I need to as I am used to it. I agree some people my age are silly and would get a VR and cane the nut off it and hurt themseleves or others and I do not condone that. -
Nice car mate, cupra's and S3's seem to be the way to go!

seems a bit cheap to me! There was a non-highline with 66k and FSH for £4500 on the trader the other week and there are some on there at the moment which have more miles than yours and are not highlines mate?

insurance on a vr6 for a 18 year old with 1 years no claims

Hey mate, I brought my VR last year when I was 19 and the insurance company where a bunch of cocks. I have no no claims as I have been a named driver on my dads policy since I passed at 17. The best people to get quoutes from are BELL and ADMIRAL. I was originally paying £2500 a year and limited to 1000 miles a year and was not allowed to use the car on certain days. I got well pissed off with it and phoned CIS and told them to stick there policy up there arse. I called admiral and have unlimited mileage insurance with the car valued at 5k and £150 quid excess for £1600pa. Much More reasona -

Which of the two is the better handling car - Golf VR6 or Vento VR6?
vr6matt replied to DBoy's topic in General Chat
The corrado handles so much better than the golf in every way. The 16v models and g60 are better balanced than the VR6, but VR6 obviously has more power and torque on tap to pull you out of the bends. It is more responsive and nimble being slightly lighter than the golf and gets better weight transfer on sharp corners. However, standard the golf handling is pretty shocking, but when lowered it is greatley improved and i am really impressed with how chcukable mine actaully is and how predictable it is. As for roundabouts, you cannot expect a car with a v6 up front in a shell that wieghs about -
www.letstorquebhp.com Its pretty good, not sure how accurate the figures are though! Matt

I would say and R32 aswell, The 330 is a nice car but is quite common and nothing special in my opinion, and in my experience they are not as quick as a VR6 - will stay pretty much level to about 90, then VR will start to pull away. As for an S3 they are a cool car with outstanding traction and if you chip it they are pretty potent and not much will touch it of the line - plus the fact they have great build quality, looks and spec. Only downside is maintenece (as people have mentioned) the Hadlex 4WD service is expensive and air flow sensors and coil packs have a habit of going. The R32 seems

Hey everyone, Was wondering if you could help me... was coming around a roundabout last night and could hearing a starnge sort of whirring whiny noise coming from the wheel. Came of onto a straight and it went away, seems to only be when i am turning..... Could it be a wheel bearing? or the dreaded bushes Advice apreciated Matt

Hi All, Was thinking of de-catting my VR until the next MOT Was wondering if this was a difficult job and the best way of going about it? I know it will make the car well loud !amazed ,but was wondering if there will be any power gains and roughly how much it will cost? Advice Appreciated Matt

That is awesome! I have been looking for something like this for ages! Top 5 episodes have to be: 1. RS4 vs Rocklimber 2. Corrado VR6 3. 911 GT3 vs Ferarri 355 4. RS2 (Doubt they will have this episode in the archive ) 5. Clarkson in his Escort Cossie. Ah... this site will defo pass the winter eveings

A real shame happened to such a great bloke and awesome driver. Seems unfair - he did not smoke was not a major drinker and something like that happens. You never know what is round the corner live life to the max.
-
Did anyone see top gear last night? The feature on the audi rs4 racing the rock climbers was awesome. Clarkson said he thought that the V8 in the RS4 might be the engine ever made... and the M3 has nothing on it. I have a feeling this might be true as this thing looked rapid! Also the old RS4's should drop in price a tad now !amazed

Mine was a peugeot 106 xs, she was a minter with only 50k and a lady owner! Still got it for a run around and save the VR for weekends! I used to think she was a right go-er but now i got the VR she seems a little tame and rattly! Still good fun though!

Hey mate, that sure does suck... and sorry to hear that. Someone done a hit and run on me too, i was too gutted to chase after them !sad but if it happens again i will be ready to give case! grrrrrrr ~ Give it the weekend to think it over, i think the same thing when i get problems with mine or stuff goes wrong. The VR's are great cars and when the doors sorted im sure you will love it again! Matt
