u can pic up the g-tec timer i used for about
-
lol @ 4pot motor! i am not to fond of them either, even though they can get big power they are still only a 1.8, and in my view feels really un-involving to drive.
-
i timed my VR a while back on a g-tec timer and got something like 6.5 seconds?! I thort this was a bit quick for a standard VR and the qaurter of a mile timer on the device showed 15.1 seconds!!!???

I think a vr6 should eaily see off a 150 or 180 1.8 turbo, my VR is completely standard and I made a 150 look silly and raced my friends 180 version and pulled on him consideribly after 80mph. The turbo on these cars is small and they are a bit heavier than the VR. 8) However S3's are quite different, they use a bigger turbo (KSO4) and i think it would be a very close race between an s3 and vr6...

sorry to hear that mate, pretty much exactly the same thing happened to me a few weeks after i got my VR i was gutted , the bloke drove off and did not even stop. providing its just the bumper though the repair cost should not be too bad hopefully

If i was to buy and R5 or GTI it would defo have to be in addition to the VR! As for supercharging i hear nick saran racing are good and prices are around 2k i believe... I have been considering it, but suppose it would mean uprating the gearbox etc etc, which could be costly in the long run. I will do some research! Cheers everyone!

I had a vts and it was great fun, nippy little motors off the lights and around town, I sold it because i had always wanted a vr. I dont really miss the saxo at all, it rattled like a bitch and everytime i gave it a proper caning i was afraid it was going to break or not start the next morning! However do kinda miss its chuckability and handling. If i was you mate I would put your saxo on the trader and see how much intrest you get, because if the chains have not been done on that K plate it will cost you in the long run. Matt

Hey mate, cheers for the advice, yea, i have heard about R5's relaibility problems! Have seen some really nice euro style mk2 gti's about and keep getting tempted by them, but I think am just being impatient and it will be worth waiting for an RS2 in the end!

Hey everyone, I am in yet another situation where i dont know what to do with cars. I love my VR to bits and have been saving real hard so I can get a S3 or RS2 in mid 2006. But i keep getting tempted by all these cool cheap hatchbacks i see like mk2 gti's and renault 5 gt turbos 8) Do I go out and buy a old skool hatch for running around in and save my VR for best and weekends only... or keep saving and eventually get the ultimate RS2 or chipped S3? Only downside is that I would obviosuly have to sell the VR to get one of these !sad Advice Appreciated Matt

Why is it that some deivers turn into absolute morons when it rains?!
vr6matt replied to TVR6's topic in General Chat
It annoys me so much when people do not take the weather into consideration. The wet is so dangerous and I drive like a right granny if I do not know the roads, then i get people sitting up my arse and flashing me - when they are blantontly not in control of thier car in these conditions! I swear some people speed up in the wet too! lol -
Help! Corrado wheel offset
vr6matt replied to vr6matt's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Thanks mate, there exactly the same size as the vr6 bbs's, which is cool, haveto find myself a set now! Matt -
Hey everyone, Was wondering if anyone knew if the corrado vr6 wheel offset is the same as the golf vr6? Will the corrado wheels fit on my golf okay? Thanks Matt !amazed

My vr is standard and above 80mph i can close the gap on civics and if enough road can go past them. I think the VR is way ahead of its time, and the torque makes it good for pulling round corners, wheras you have to rag the nutt off of a type r to get it to go! However i here the handling of the type r is legendary.

On a long journey sitting at 80/90MPH the best i have ever got is 34.9 mpg, I rarely do long journeys - at weekends I average about 25mpg but have seen 19.9 when driving enthusiasticaly! Matt

I am a modern apprentice for a pharmaceutical company in the IT training dept. Only came out of 6th form at school this time last year! so I am finding it very tiring having to wake up so early and just want to go home and watch films, play ps2, and drive my vr. Hopefully my job will be worth it in the end and I can buy myself an RS2. One plus point of my job is it is only half a mile from my house so dont spend mega bucks on fuel! !lol Matt

I have just had my car serviced for the winter now it is getting colder by a speicialist and they put mobil 1 in it. I asked them at the time of the service if they could put 10w - 40 in, but they said they reccomnded mobil 1 for a car like a VR6 and it is good for the winter as it gets round the engine quicker because it is thinner??? I asked vw what oil to put it and they said 10/40, but when i brought the car it had mobil1 in it and didnt have any trouble.... but was just wondering if this oil is okay for my engine. Thanks Matt

Last night my mate took me out in an RS2 and my god it was qulaity. I have seen them about and knew they were well rapid but going in one was something else. It is much faster than any subaru i have ever been and have to say it is probaly one of the fastest cars i have ever been in. Along with being rapid it was a well nice car aswell- which is not the case with subabru's, evos, and civics. The turbo on these things is brutal! when it kicks in everything is a blur! I also found out this morning that they have the fastest 0-30 time in the world!? mad! !amazed Has anyone else ever been in one

Mate thats sucks and this bloke sounds like a right cock. You should defo pay him a visit or better still pour oil over his tyres of his car and watch him crash on the 1st corner he takes. Waiting for him to slip is up is also a good idea, in the meantime register his email address on every porn and spam website you come across !lol

Hey everyone, Ever since a I had my car lowered 6 months ago there has been a very slight creaking when turnind the steering wheel and pulling away in 1st. It is barley noticable but is getting a little bit louder.... could this be a problem? &| Thanks Matt

I was not to fond of the mk4 r32 as it was to bulky and just did not look mean enough, this looks well like a mk5 gti with a few extra bits added on! Quite like the back of it and the interior looks nice -especially the seats, but from the side and front does not look anything special. Spose it will depriceiate the r32 though, which could be a good thing. I heard they were bringing out an r36? Maybe thats the one to wait for????? Matt

30mm Lowering springs...good or bad?
vr6matt replied to matth76's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Hi mate, My car is lowered 35 all round on koni adjustables. It looks much better from the front now its lowered, handling is also much better sticks to the road a lot more and the front end is a easier to control around corners. It handles 10 times better than standard VR's, my mates VR is standard and when i race him round the twistys leave him standing! Matt -
Lol, cheers guys, i thought it seemed a bit quick! I reckon my vr is bout 7ish seconds to 60 in reality, although she is a healthy one - 45k on the clock. Mite have to come down the pod and find out the harsh reality!

Does anyone know how accurate these actually are? They are for sale on ebay for about

Hey everyone, My mate just brought a 95 golf vr6 automatic. It has these two buttons below the fan dials / climatronic were the buttons would be for the rear electric windows in a 5 door model...... One says "Norm" and one says "Max" these are not in the owners handbook and when pressed do not seem to make any difference to the cooling system at all? Anyone know what these are?? !dodge Thanks Matt
