    got a shot of a mates civic type r today, first time bein in and drivin 1! and hav to say was not greatly impressed , was really nice to drive, gearchange was beautiful, steering and turn in were tight, altho the car just didn`t feel as togther as my 93 golf!! mind u the civic had almost the same mileage!! 60k seemed quick enough once u were on vtec but untill 6500 there was nothin, was almost boring and a big let down. i couldn`t be assed with that everytime u wanted a short nippy blast!! its great havin power and torque on tap pretty much all thro the revs not just way up! hav to say tho d

    will hopefully hav my new rims soon so better start thinkin bout tyres!! i`m thinkin on 205/40/17 eagle f1`s. the wheels are 17x7 inch. what sizes tyres do other 17inch wheel owners run? cheers

    i may be way down the wrong path here but hav u tried ur icv? only mention it cauz i was havin cuttin out and idlin probs recently and went to clean the icv, the electronic plug was a bit loose, put it on rite and its been fine since

    stunnin motor mate, seen it at ed38 in the flesh and was gobsmacked, absolutely flawless!! front end looks well tough. can`t wait till i hav the time and money to treat my car like that!!

    absolutely gutted for ya mate!! hope u do get the low life scum that did it!! a good 1 to inflict alot of pain over a period of time is stab the bastard in the ass cheek with a slightly sharpend spoon!! make sure u get nice adn deep though takes months maybe years to heal and they can`t sit down for a long long time!

    i`ve got the same problem, lowered on koni`s and under 60,000 miles. my mate has a 51 plate astra turbo with konis that makes exactly the same noise! he got it checked at it came back that its the release bearing for the clutch!

    For those in the know? and those that have a never ending knowledge all things mk3!! what`s was the difference`s on the later spec vr`s over the earlier ones? different shaped side repeaters?, body coloured rubbing strips?, full coloured bumpers? any more i`m missin?# cheers

    i test drove alot of different state of tune vr`s when i was lookin, from high to low mile standard ones midly tuned ones but none with manifold or internal mods. when i went to pick the 1 i bought up and got the first test drive in it it was incredible, such a difference over all the others!! it felt like a totally different car!! i would go for it and if ur not happpy u can sel the cams, schrick etc to pay for the charger!!

    cheers mr monster, wasn`t really lookin for a red 1 but i couldn`t refuse. i think i`ll still save for some coilovers but make it in the long term! i`m afraid i`m up in sunny scotland craggsy but cheers for the offer! if i`m ever down ur way i`ll be sure and take u up on that offer!

    do coilovers really improve the ride and handling dramatically over a decent non coilover setup? i`m runnin on top adjustable koni shocks, eibach 30mm springs and eibach ARB`s, fully polybushed all round and also a front strut brace. was thinkin on a set of koni coilovers next but am unsure wether they would justify themselves cauz the handlin and ride are almost faultless at the moment?

    jesus h christ, thats bloody shiny!! you`d need shares in brasso to keep that clean!! as nice as it would be to hav an engine that looks like that it would render your car pretty much undriveable!!

    i hate it when people put up pics of there cars slammed on coilovers!! makes me want some so bad, but there`s other things i need to spend my cash on!!! but i hav to admit chief it looks the dogs danglies!!

    seein as i dont own 1 and don`t any1 near me with 1 fitted can some on hear please tell me whats inside the bmc, is it basically a filter inside a heat insulated tube with the cold air pipe off the intake end??? if it is that simple i reckon i could make a polished stainless steel version at my work!! 8)

    drive along at a slow speed in 5th gear and put ur foot down, if it revs way quicker than ur sped goes up its slipping!

    when i was looking to buy a vr a drove a few standard 1`s i was impressed then i went down to pick up the 1 i bought and its schricked up to the max, manifold, cams. and the difference was incredible, the mid range power and torque is crazy. am so glad i held off and went for the modified 1. otherwise i`d of had to spend a fortune.

    mine were fitted on the car from new, and recently broke one aswell, got replacement ones that were made by vortex, the guy i bought them off got them with his car new so try them, same sizes and fitments as hella ones.

    seein as i was havin a very borin day at work started rackin my brains for homers that i could be doin!! decided seein as i dont need the old manifold i`d try usin some of the polishin tools at work on it to see the results, only did half to compare the difference, this took about 30-40mins. all the tools were portable so if any1 is in my area(aberdeen) and wantin some shiny bits i could easily come to them or vice versa.

    just recently out of the blue my fan has started runnin constantly not just when the engine temp rises. it doesnt matter if the car has been sittin 5 mins or 8 hours it starts as soon as i turn the ignition!!! anyone hav any idea what the problem may be?? cheers
