    Best car Ive ever had - I love it, I love the sound, the engine, handling - good all rounder but if I had to drive it everyday my bank account would take a caning with the petrol it drinks! My car does around 19mpg but I do drive with enthusiasm everywhere I go.

    I made my own, cut both ends off the cat and welded a pipe in between with a hole for the lamda sensor - job done for about £10! Not had any problems with it but it does help to be freinds with your MOT test station ;0)

    Cool! I forgot about the custom downpipe but at least I now know a man that can :0) Once I've had go ahead from my mate about the engine I'll get things moving - shouldnt be too difficult to do I know a few people that can help me out with it - should be quite nippy if it gets done!

    Cheers Nick - I prefer the Mk3 shape to the Mk2 and thought that with a busted VR I'd get semi decent brakes and stuff as standard, Plan would be to strip it all out with a cage etc to save me doing it to my VR6. The bloke I would get the base car off has a mate that works at jabba sport so that thought had already crossed my mind :0) If a VR6 lump will go almost straight into a Mk2 then a 1.8T should drop nicely into a Mk3 no? Would be a wicked project to undertake I think.

    How difficult would it be to put a 1.8T engine and box into a Mk3 VR6? Mate of mine had his VRS written off the other day & I wanna buy it off him after the insurance etc has gone through and make a proper ring car for myself from it - I can get my hands on a cheap VR6 easily enough. If I had a couple of people that had some knowledge of cars and the right tools could it be done at home?

    I didnt take my car on this trip to the ring but its been fine after my other trips there - fluids topped up and is reasonably fresh. I think I'll just get it booked in, if Im going to the ring in sept I want it running sweet :0) I think its the release bearing tho... Cheers

    Ooof - that clutch wasnt cheap! Might aswell get the chains done aswell this time - teach me for going to the ring the day after the clutch was fitted wont it ha ha

    My clutch (I think its the clutch) has started making a kind of rattling noise when im going along - if I press the clutch down the noise stops but the last time I drove the car it was difficult to get in gears and the clutch pedal sometimes didnt come back up as it should. Any ideas what the prob could be? Clutch or box? I had a Helix Grp N clutch fitted almost 2 years ago

    I've got a Civic Type R aerial on my car - wont cost you much down a breakers, not £27 anyway! Looks like the same aerial as the one you want, I get a better reception with it too.

    Exactly Fockey - I personally wouldnt want a highline, not a fan of wood in my car :0)

    Ah thats ok! I got confused with the dates, last easter I came home on Sunday thats all - extra day at the ring woo hoo! ha ha

    Nothing amazing, my mate Tom only sent me them this evening! I think it was Warren/Steve/Andy that wrote - Semen Demon or something like that on my rear windscreen, I think I left it there for most of the journey home - seemed a shame to wash away such genius!
