My mate sat in my car with some greasy trousers on and now I have to get the grease off! Whats the best stuff to use? Also what would get paint off? I got some paint on my sofa :-p

You can get Racelogic traction control/launch control - got it on mine, it'd be wicked on a turbo'd VR

What a BORING! vid! Looks ok but I think the MkV looks better than that - seems a bit too soon to be bringing out a new shape..

Ive had pressed plates on my car for 4 years - was fined £30 in 2005 and that was it

Commonly requested part numbers.
Seademon replied to VR6Pete's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Anyone know the Ford part number at all for a coil pack? I dont fancy paying £163 + vat for one! -
I'd leave the viper to the Saxo's & Corsa's - I'd be surprised if you got 10bhp from 1 of them! Theres pro's and cons for BMC & Ramair with loads of threads on here about both but at the end of the day its up to you - their all similar at the end of the day. BMC shields the filter from hot air in the engine bay but once your moving quickly thats irrelevant - I had BMC, didnt like it as it wasnt very load unless you take off the cold air feed which kind of defeated the object for me so I sold it. I work for a Britcar racing team and our car has a free flow BMC filter (K&N style) n

Been looking this morning & it doesnt look as if they still make them for the VR6 - I've got a HKS Skyline filter on my VR6 at the moment and thats louder than the Pro Ram so Im gonna stick with that as I've just found a US site that wont shaft me on the price of a piece of foam like the UK companies do - £15 shipped compared to £38!

Can anyone recommend to me a place where I can buy a Ram Air Pro Ram for my VR6? I want that massive filter not the little tiddler Cheers!

Went to 2 places at the weekend to get these and Halfords only does packs of 4 and the other place didnt have any in so I went for Bosch Super 4's - had some Bosch's in already and they were ok

Nice one mate cheers

Yo - Im gonna service my car this weekend & my list of parts I'll need is: 4L of Syntha Silver Oil & Oil filter 6 x NGK BKR5EKUP spark plugs Anti-freeze - whats the deal with the anti-freeze? I remember that you cant use a certain type in the VR6. The plug leads are OEM VW leads and have only covered about 6k if that since the last change Do VW dealers sell the metal plug tool? Anything else?

Are NGK BKR5EKUP plugs the best for OBD2?

Tensioner Pulley & Belt Gone...
Seademon replied to Seademon's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Ok cheers - my new neighbour works at VW so he's gonna get the parts for me, well handy! -
The pulley on my serpentine belt tensioner self destructed & the belts obviously ruined now - is it possible to order just the pulley & bearing or will I need to buy the whole unit? Could someone list the parts that I will need to fix it including the belt? My car is a 1997/P Golf VR6 Cheers

My mates mrs owns an Evo 2 - she picked it up for £2500 and its been brilliant, no probs and is always getting thrashed round a track somewhere. No matter how much you spend on a Golf it will never be as good as an Evo plus you'd have to spend stupid amounts of money to try and get it near the all round performance of one.

Does this happen with every non highline that appears on ebay! Man!!
-
My BBS RX2's may be for sale shortly if I can get the deal Im hoping for on my new set of wheels - quite rare wheels, not seen another set on a Golf in 3 years of owning mine.
-
Why are they getting you a quote?? Best off getting one yourself where you want it done.

I've got a Sebring system on mine with 2 boxes & no cat

Hello Nick! I remember when I was thinking of selling mine you said I should keep it so Im gonna say the same thing to you! I reckon you will regret selling it - it looks the nuts. Just had mine completely resprayed with all the rusty bits done etc and now its mint sitting in a lockup - I'll probably hardly drive it but I just cant part with it now, I use my bike everyday for work etc so I'll probably just drive the car at the weekend if Im not out on the bike!

Ah wicked! Thats gonna shift! Took a couple of pics but only had my phone, broke the screen on my digi cam but my mates gonna take some for me tomorrow - I've added them to my facebook album with the rest http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=25630&id=680911637 Nothing ground braking done to it really, just a few subtle bits smoothed over, debadged * de-wipered on the boot with a boot pop fitted which I had hooked up in place of the rear wiper to operate it. Had all the bodykit off & bumpers so the whole cars been painted - had a new windscreen fitted aswell while it was in cos it ha

Ha ha - glad it hasnt put you off going again Pete! Where did you get the Mk2 from - the plate seems quite familiar, was it from someone on here? Got my car back tonight - it was amazing seeing & hearing it come down the road, only thing is I cant drive it for a few weeks cos I've had a skin graft on my leg! Nevermind...

OBD2 AAA stalling when cold, then running on five?
Seademon replied to james4287's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
My cars done this since I've owned it! I've had it just over 3 years and its always been the same, I just let it warm up before I set off in it - I've done loads of ring trips & trackdays in it and never had a problem - my car has no fault codes or anything. -
Ive had my German plates on since 2005 and have only been pulled once & that was about a week after fitting them - I think I'm gonna change them now tho :0)
