got a few more bits now and have had the block sent to be bored. not sure what turbo it is but should do the trick for now.

hopfully i will have alot of power so that should be a good option to take. any idea what the part number for the final drive is? (3.64) thanks

all i can say is yep it does fit but i personaly would put in in a mk2

i have just orderd 83mm (3 ltr) any bigger then the wall gets a bit 2 thin and can cause probs

thanks alex. what sort of top speed do you think it will do with the diesel 5th?

hello chaps. im goin to be rebuilding my gearbox very soon with a peloquins lsd and i want to change the final drive to give me a better acceleration but also want to change the 5th gear to give me a good motorway cruising gear so was thinking of using the diesel 5th. what sort of power will it be able to handle as im goin to be running quite high bhp. also if any 1 could give me part numbers for the bits im goin to need that would be a great help. many thanks . stu

obd2 came in late 95 n reg

at a guess i would say the passanger side cv joint that goes in the gearbox. if you pop the bonnet and grab the shaft you will prob be able to move it about in the gear box end. this has happend 3 times to me so im 99% sure thats what it will be.

put her in the vr. my s/c vr was the 1st car my chick ever drove lol (well it was in asda carpark lol) gota learn some time so jump in the deep end and get rid of the lupo.
