  1. With the one in the picture, I can block the end port and push the piston in and out and I don't really feel any resistance, I can feel my finger get sucked in a bit when releasing the piston but not much.. I got told that Brembo 4 pots are prone to air locks and the best way to bleed them is have them off the car, not sure how much truth there is in that.. Would the pedal still go firm if the seals were buggered on the M/C when the car is off? Appreciate your help!!
  2. I'll get a pic now! I have no ABS. With engine running I can pump the pedal and it doesn't get any harder at allllllllll.. I just find it hard to believe I've got 2 dead M/C but then as I've said, I did have 2 dead fuel pumps! lol
  3. Hi It feels soft ALLLL the time when driving, I had to take it on a 50 mile round trip yesterday and the whole time the pedal was soft. The only ime it firms up is when it is off! I did suspect the M/C to be at fault but I fitted a brand new VW 22mm one I had laying around. The results of this were identical to what I had with the previous 23mm.. I could be unlucky and have a faulty one.. I did have 2 brand new faulty fuel pumps from VW.. lol Paul, I am bleeding the sytem with the bias valves fully open. My M.C only has the 2 port for the brake lines, it's not a 4 way one.. I don't think I ca
  4. Very strange problem on my car.. With car off, the pedal goes pretty firm but not super, with it on, it goes soft, so soft i can near enough get the pedal on the floor.. When driving, the car really is hard to stop, there is no bite, i put the pedal near enough to the floor and the car slowly stops.. My braking system is as follows.. No ABS, Corrado VR6 or Golf 16v Servo, 23mm M/C, ATE Super Blue fluid, Brembo 4 pot front, mk4 Golf rear, Wilwood Bias valves, fully braided lines throughout system (No copper) The 1 way valve is plumbed in I've bled the system over and over using an ezblled, I've
  5. I'll open my tank up and see if I can push it down a tad.. Would be nice to get more miles out of a tank incase I ever have to run that low!
  6. Well. After pissing around, getting old sensor and gauge adapter off, I found the bloody yellow wire to have split!! So that was my issue, doh!!! The 2 pressure sensors were the only original parts anyway so I think it was my engines way of telling me to sort it out and get new ones! lol Not got to test it as I didn't want to piss off the neighbours and I was bloody freezing after lying on the floor for nearly 2 hours pissing around with trying to resolder the wire but I'm sure it'll be fine now! Phew! Cheers for the help and that's £100 that can go toward my other engine, woohoo!
  7. hah, got my new pressure switches from ECP.. Havent got a chance to get to a VW dealer until Sat and I dont want to wait that long so Im going to try these out tonight and if that fails, I'll pull a sicky and got to VW tomorrow.. lol
  8. lol I'll get my wallet out and buy my new bis.. Bloody pain getting to those sensors!
  9. It's an OBD1.. I've always been told that all VAG COM will tell me is that I have an engine and it's on.. lol
  10. Just to add.. Opened oil cap and could see the flow of oil coming up and being spat around.. With the oil temp at only 38 degrees but still 2.1 at idle, I reved the engine and had no oil light or buzzer..
  11. Right, today I checked the correct wires are going to the correct sensors (OK). Correctly setup my pressure gauge and let the car get upto temp (84 degrees according to my SPA) The MFA temp gauge seems to be up the spout and is reading all sorts every 5 or 10 seconds.. 90 - 147 - 160 etc etc... On idle, my pressure guge reads approx 2.1 bar but this does vary around this figure.. When I bring and hold the revs above 2500rpm, the pressure reading goes to appprox 4.5-4.7 bar then the oil buzzer/light comes on but when back at idle.. I am a bit concerned about it now, I don't think my sensors are
  12. Appears to not happen anymore.. Need to look into my gauge settings, reads pressure at idle at approx 77psi and 5.xx+ bar lol! Something it a miss there lolol
  13. I have one in mine with the Stealth adapter thing, when testing how low I could run the car on my driveway it cut out just below the qtr mark..
  14. Not really thought about this but I suppose it is possible....? Best to call me to discuss requirements Vince Be really usueful if you are willing to do this as i've (and i'm sure many people on here also at various stages with theirs) have slowly been aquiring parts over the last 12 months as and when i've had spare cash and still have a few missing bits (damn this house buying lark!) Same boat...
  15. The r32 is near enoug touching the sump so i know the pickup will be fully submerged,,, Im syre its a dodgy sensor.. I'll opst the result in a few hours
  16. Yeah, did R32 pump and shallow steel sump, Only question it as it's the first time it's run upto temp with this fitted and I now have this oil buzzer issue.. Has sat for bliming ages but i'll go out and find out after some dinner!! Defo have to catch you there Rich! Thanks Craggsy.. I'll see what my gauge reads I assume the reading will change as the engine revs higher and lower?
  17. Yeah, thats first port of call.. 2bar at 2000rpm sound right?
  18. Strange.. I can't remember where i put the sensors but I think i'll get under and have a look as due to having 2 t-pieces fitted for my Aux gauges, they could be giving false readings off.. I ll have to go out and havea fiddle when it's cooled down! Richie, yup, it's in for UD! Defo come find me, owe you a few beers!! Yours going to be there, still at VW? I have fitted a shallow sump and it never did this before so Im a bit suspicious...
  19. Cheers... Need to get my SPA gauge wired back in to see if it actually is too low or too high..
  20. What actually triggers this, oil pressure? Mine seems to come on when I rev the engine.. Was bleeding the rad and when finished i gave it a hard rev to hear the engine and it came on... Turned it off, did it again and same thing... All levels ok.. cheers
  21. Yeah, that's tonights plan... I take it oil should be pumped up here as doon as engine tuns over.. Where is the oil pumped out of the pump outputted, i just know it goes into that metal pipe and up somewhere..
  22. I'm slightly concerned.. I'm pretty sure it's a tappet as the noise is from that area, I wish the intake manifold dind't run over the rocker cover so I could bloody turn it over with the rocker off to see! The engine didn't run lumpy and is firing on all 6, no scooby impressions happening here! I have fitted a new R32 oil pump and shortened sump and oil level is spot on top mark. Engine was primed after installing the new bits, then coilpack reconnected, wouldn't fire initially (perhaps due to cold as it was in minus numbers when I was at this stage) then fired. Since then, it's fired instan
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFixgORsvdU I started the car up tonight so I could fill it up with coolant and bleed it through as I've not had any in there while I've had my thermo housing off. It's been like this for the past 2 months so not been properly driven or run.. I've always run the engine for no more than 1 minute due to no coolant and I'd choke on the fumes in my garage! My external oil temp gauge has only recorded 10.1 degree C as being peak temp so that'll all fine.. In all the past 2 months, it's been fine but tonight when I finally want to get it going, it's started this hor
