  1. Im in same boat with the t piece! I need to have my oil pressure and temp gauge in and I found the sensors would all interfere with each other! Let us know how you get on with the remote t piece..

  4. O2M conversion?? Is that what everyone is doing now? I've been away from this side of things for a while so don't know what the latest discoveries are..The O2M from the R32? At the moment I have an O2A box with a peloquin, corrado shifter (sits lower), fidanza flywheel and brand new OEM clutch plate.. I doubt I'd go so far as to change the box, I will do the clutch though.. I gasket matched the head over the weekend, I'll probably polish the exhaust side just for the sake of it being an easyjob... Who supplies decent oversized valves and I take it theyneed machine work to fit, not just a OTT l
  5. Cheers. I'm going to fully rebild a fully uprated bottom end. My current one just has 83mm forged pistons but I don't really like the thin walls when running boost and how I drive.. I want to keept he next block a 2.9 max.. Cheers for the advice on the head, I think I'll just port and polish as planned and big valve it.. I'm only wanting the car to be quicker than my M3 but if talking numbers, I'd want it to have at least 350bhp 370lb/ft.. I'll be going GT30 but depending on how I built the engine I may stump for a GT35. I'm still in the middle fo researching options which best suit! Just need
  6. Is it worth doing any head work? I'm building a second engine so I can do a quick swap once done and I don't want to turbo my 3.0 block. I've got a spare head and I'm after a bare 2.8 block which I'll overbore. I'm starting on my head first, I plan to gasket match the intake and exhaust myself but I'm wondering if it's worth doing anything with the valves, larger or lighter versions? I never really here much in terms of gain and I've never heard of an OEM spec head giving any grief so is it really worth it on a turbo application? Also, my currently used head and spare head are both 2.9 Corr
  7. I've just been told that on the VW part of the loom, the yellow wire is earth and black wire is live!
  8. Hi, Is it possible for injectors to block up through being stood for over 3 years? My car won't fire, I've got a working fuel pump, get a spark, put leds into the injecto plugs and they all light up and pulse when cranking but no fire so I can only assume that all 6 injectors are blocked.. Possible?
  9. no no, want to get it running first, check it's all good then I'm fitting a turbo. Having enough headaches without the extra of having fitted a turbo so glad I haven't done it yet! lol Did plan to R32 it in the coming winter but cba with the hassle on this car. Just going to get it running, show it, turbo it when it's running good and then be done with it
  10. Is an easy job now I've been told how to do it, left my fuel pump out in the garage so all the fuel evaporated so was a clean job too
  11. Right, I got this done and took some pics so hopefully this'll help some people out and get me through my morning at work.. The kit as purchased from Stealth Took the pump assembly apart before I took pics so no pics of that but it's straight forward enough Bits spread out You have to 'modify' a rubber cap so it becomes a sleeve, this is to make up for the smaller girth of the pump You then have to remove a sleeve from the recirc fuel filter, this is what is basically going to be supporting the fuel pump Here I put some cable ties on just to make sure it doesn't slip out Fitted into the r
  12. I've now fitted it after some advice from Stealth.. Bit of a bodge but it works.. Went and got 12 litres of petrol and topped the car up and the pump works a treat. Just need to work out why I have no power to the injectors now! I took pics along the way so I'll get a little DIY up at some point!
  13. Cheers, don't fancy pulling the old pump apart but if I must, I'll do it! Anyone know what order the bits go as such? Got the old siwrl pot apart now and can fit the pump in but it just doesn't seem right. The metal sleeve is at the bottom but it feels like it should slide down deeper but it doesn't.. grr
  14. I got my Walbro from stealth which included their adapter... They said to give them a call when I go to fit it but they're closed now.. Logic says you fit the rubber sleeve to the pump and then slide this into the adapter and position in the swirl pot, is this the correct way? Can't really get the filter on without some difficulty this way thoguh.. Cheers
  15. I have 3 wires coming from the fan control module into the car, a thick red with a black plug on the end, I imagine this joins to pin A5 on the fusebox.. I also have a Brown/white and red/brown wires going into a yellow plug. Down by the fusebox I found 2 spare opposite end yellow plugs which both appear to lead to the ECU, one has totally different coloured and other other has similar but not the same combo wires) I have a diagram for the fusebox but i've never found one for the ECU, so does anyone have one or know where these go?. cheers
  16. I'm trying to get my piece of crap car to start, it just turns over and over and over! (It is a Corrado lump/setup in my Golf ex 1.4) I'm getting a spark, I have fuel in the fuel line as I found out painfully, but after a few cranks, I decided to pull the manifold off and check the tips of the injectors which were dry as a bone and no smell of fuel at all! Could someone please tell me what runs the injectors, cam or crank sensor, ecu.. e.t.c Cheers!
  17. No vag-com Can any of the pins on the plugs or contacts on coilpack give any further hints to its wellbeing?
  18. I seem to get past one prob then come across another! I'm getting no spark, I get 12v at pin 1 and 5 but how do I do further tests? I'm pretty sure the coilpack is dead but just want to make sure.. cheers

  22. Cool, so it comes with some form of custom mount to enable it to just slot in? Do the standard + / - just plug into it? I'll have to give stealth a call tomorrow! The car is just host to an N/A 3.0 VR with bolt on upgrades but over the summer at some point I plan on going for a stage 2 Rotrex setup either with this lump or if I can justify ripping out the months and months of work I've put into rebuilding it and extending the loom so soon, I'
  23. I'm looking at fitting an uprated pump to replace my dead OEM one.. I understand that the corrado VR6 has a 4 bar pump where the Golf has a 3 bar. Ideally I want an intank one as I won't be running a retrex or retrexed R32 for a few months.. I understand that some people run the OEM pump aswell as an inline one.. I really just want an nitank one which I can throw in the OEM bracket and be done with it.. What have you got? Patrick has kindly advised me on a Sytec or a Walbro which I'll go for but wanna know what one exactly and can I get one which just fits in without additional wiring? Or sho
  24. No difference in manifolds according to ETKA and from what I've seen so you'll be alright
  25. Doh!! Defo NOT the battery, took jump leads from my M3 straight to the starter and it does the machine gun thing still but alot faster! Anyone got a spare starter motor that I can get ASAP!!!!! Or just a solenoid from ANY starter????
