28v6r replied to vdubgirl's topic in Members Rides and Event Photos
What colour was it before then?? and how bad was it looking? Knowing you like we do it was immaculate except for a little stone chip on the bonnet that had gone "Rusty" !dodge ... I can't accept that it really "Was that bad"... And anyway, where were you last year when I used to cover Bristol as part of my territory...I was the one tootling around in a Silver Skoda 130 Tdi...?? -
Really!! how could you you "schitzo psychodelic" (?) person.. P.S Have you made your mind up whether you like the colour or not ...And WTF are we getting to see it... it's a bit like sex wif the light out Claire... !shy

Any photos Ciaran? Reason: It maybe leaking from the auxiliary water pump bottom hose, which on mine turned out to be the Impellor housing had split and eventually blew off causing a severe leak..Its worth looking around that area as it harbours a lot of leak opportunities when I fixed the pump I found that the Thermostat housing had a small split on it as well .. more like chasing my tail to cure the leak..

Look for a company called "Longlife" who'll manufacture a silencer for you in stainless that will take the sound down a bit and still allow the performance exhaust...

Heres a good one fur ye.... Do you have such a thing as an engine management light on the car.. Its yellow and has the shape of an engine on it?? If not then you may be the same as me..The ABS light on some cars doubles over as the engine management light, therefore if theres a fault it may engage... I only found this out the other day as I put mine in to be VAGcommed.. and thats what it came back with, apparently the speed sensor and Lambda probe were not communicating to the ECU, new terminals fitted and all is well and the ABS light now stays oot! Just a thought and that may also supply the

Hmmmm... Disconnected mine and it revved freely.. thats what makes me think its not getting a correct signal.. + its a very intermittent misfire.. like there just now, drove home about 4 miles in total... absolutely nothing, smooth as silk.. but idling whilst waiting was lumpy..otherwise it pulls well.. the plugs were a nice golden brown colour when I pulled them this morning...
-
Right before we begin....MINES IS SPOTLESS ok? Been cleaned with carb cleaner verrrry recently! Soooo... If you disconnect the sensor whilst the engine is running can anyone tell me what "Does" happen?? Reason: I suspect mine to be on the way out, I'm gettin a flat spot and misfire at around 2800/3k rpm not all the time just occasionally. Its only just materialised after a long hall run down to Rougely and back, weather conditions were dry so I know its not dampness (Sprayed the NEW coilpack in water, no change there, idles fine) I had the misfire cured, fitted new leads, new coilpack, new plu

Well, first the bad news ...its the thermostat housing that appears to be leaking.. good news is its not that expensive a repair and its an easy one to carry out..you just need to remove the coil pack to gain access to all three bolts as one is hidden, then it allows clear access to the hoses that can be removed using a pipe clamp then it just slides off.. remember to take out the blue and yellow sensors before removal, give them a clean before reinstalling and fit new O rings...and you should be fine..

Anyone with a spare working fine ABS module for grabs??Please??

Yeah..and B6MFD you look like Sonic The Hedgehog! !lol !lol !lol !lol !lol !lol

Okay, I had an Itermittent ABS light come on and go off, more in line with a relay heating up, as sometimes I can travel for a long time (30 - 35 miles)and nothing then other times it takes like 10 -20 yards and on it pops. I've very recently done the full brake system, new pads, discs, fluids and new sensors.. and it still persists in the same manner.. so purchased new relays, 179 & 79 (Part Nos 357 927 843A and 191 927 841 respectively) however tried today to locate them and .... Fecked if I know where they are!!! Not on the fuse board, under the back seat, in the engine bay Nada, Zippo,

Yeah, but thats why cars, boats , planes etc are all called "she" - they take all your money , when they throw a wobbly its usualy major...and involves money, when you've paid them money.. everythings sweet (just listen to your VR if you need proof!) and the good times are akin to sex, few and very rare with the excuse that it makes it all the more pleasurable (listen to your VR again on song!) and that its usually a reward.. for something done..like handing over money! Sound familiar??? Hence your VR is a "she"...... 8) P.S No offence to the ladies of the board...Especially you Claire (We

Does anyone know the number of this, and where its located in the car? I'm suspecting mine to be faulty, as it comes on intermittently. Today we installed new discs and pads all round, cleaned up the sensors and rings and yes you guessed it, it came on after achieving over half the journey without incident.. Bear in mind, my car is a Passat, but I believe the realy numbers to be the same.. Any one???

No, It is quite common I'm afraid it used to happen on the Golf MK2 and Jettas, nothing new there, just bad luck really...

You could do the epoxy fix followed by a coating of silicone grease to repel moisture, make sure you dry the pack out before doing the epoxy fix & sealing, that way it won't feel as lumpy, there was also a coilpack on Ebay recently for 60 notes, apparently bought and unneeded.. just a thought...

Yes you're correct there Killo, it does stop when the cltch is depressed, this is because the load is off the bearing...
