hiya. Has anyone managed to have one of these installed. I was speaking to a transmission specialist garage, and they said its quiet hard to mount an additional oil cooler kit on the vr6's. Can anyone fill me in??

ive noticed ever since i bought my vr. the fan comes on quiet a bit. If i drive it hard well.....thats understandable, but even when i leave it to idle for a while. I had the thermostat changed about 6 months ago and had the coolant renewed. I was thinking about the flushing out the radiator but aint too sure on the procedure. The fan kicks in around about 90ish and then around 100ish.Also.....i ve been told to get a neuspeed thermostat??? any help appreciated.

cheers for that...... are these viper air induction kits any good. i havent come across anyone on this site that has fitted one. People seem to be going for the BMCA sealed air filters.

hiya.....just wanted to know where everyone has plumbed their cold air feed for their induction kits. Is their a particular place around the vr engines. Also can someone put me out of my misery and explain to me, what those cute looking little minature filters are i keep seeing on max power car engines. There really small around 10cm if that. Ive heard they are called oil breathers. Is worth setting up one on vr's and how do you do it? Any help appreciated.

im thinking im thnking........im down hounslow west sidez now and then. Basildon road, mcdonalds nr hendleys roundabout. Im a bit of a prawler on the A4, but my gearbox has gone. So im borrowing a car now. Its going in for a bita work. i'll keep an eye out for you. cant be that heard to spot a mk3 vr6 in the area. theres a few about but mainly gti's. or a few golf CL's kitted up like they producing 400 bhp!! I live near the hounslow bus garage. Drive a black 3DR golf. im always tearing around there, creating havoc amongst the nova & rs turbo clan!! well........whats left of them. they are like dinosaurs...becoming extinct. u aint pushing a purple highline are you.... if you are then i think ive seen you around.

I get about £1100 to take home excluding commision. i live with my mother dear and i have two pets (my sisters). The money just comes and goes. The more you earn, the more you spend. I got four credit cards and 1 loan. Not to mention my student loan repayments are going to kick in soon!!! IF YA AINT SPENDING, THEN YA AINT ENJOYING!! you work hard all your life and then u die and leave your money here. might aswell spend it while u can.

What a shame!, it happened only 25mins ago. im getting no response from the frigging engine. The engine revs all its likes but doesnt seem to respond in any of the gears. I knew i should of gone for a manual. Your bound to get these problems when you shove a auto in a car like a vr. Well.......ive been quoted £1250 supply & fit for a reconditioned auto box or £1500 for a 5 speed manual w/LSD also supply and fitted.

forgive for asking a daft question but what is a head gasket and what purpose does it serve. -
its approaching 68, but i know with the mileage i do travelling to work back and forward ill be on 70 in no time. Its totally standard 1996 highliner. Any advise on what to look out for or inspect for the next service. Ive been told the timing chain and poly v belts need an inspection. Also can anyone tell me of vw tunning places in middlesex that will carryout tranmission conversions. My auto is needs a life support machine and im considering a 5sp manual w/lsd.

i remember the first vr6 i went to see was at a vw dealership. It was a M reg and had climate control.

22, Service Advisor for currie motors (the STEALERSHIP). Hitting 23 in july. had the vr since last june. One of the best cars ive driven, lightwight, pocket rocket acceleration, great sound, very comfy and trendy looking. (not very roomy for making lurrrrrrv though!). Next car will have to be another vr6 based engine. V6 4motion or R32.

well.......looks like all of us have had victories and losses. But just like Ali, who cares if you loose, theres always next time!! I remember a ford focus ST170 edging at the lights one day. I was rather distracted by a beautiful women who was walking by. As soon as the lights went amber Mr focus ST-170 sped off first, leaving me with a slight disadvantage. I hit the gas fully down..........caught up him......over took him.....and waved good bye. I remember a peugeot 206 GTi aswell. Man this car was reallly sexy. It had a fully dimma kit. i mean you pay £1000 for a manual conversion, an extra £500 if you want Limited Slip Differiential. Brings it to a total £1500 approx. That is quiet reasonable bearing in mind these dudes (designer dubs) are pro's at what they do.

i tried my local auto transmission specialist in acton, middlesex. He said, if your gears have been slipping for more than a few weeks, then i'll need a re-conditioned box. i asked him about renewing the ATF and ATF filter. he said it wont be worth it. By the way, that was £900 + vat + labour.

hi simey, hows your vr bro. i might of exagerated by saying dying. The only problem is, the car over revs too much in gear D. The revs do not move in proportion to the speed of the engine. For example.... i could be doing 70mph in D and when the auto box changes the gear, the revs build up for a couple of seconds and then switch gears. This causes wheelspins at high speeds. Gears 1,2 are all ok. Gear 3 slips a bit, and gear D slips all the time. I know this sounds really bad, but its soo funny to see peoplles reactions when they hear your car wheel spin down the motorway at 85mph. To be quiet

interesting...... thanks for that. Bearing in mind the vehicle is totally bog standard. I'll ask the guys doing the conversion about the gear ratios, and i'll see what they have to say.
