    Don't remind me! My ex used to have a bright yellow 106 GTI, was bloody lethal, I nearly crashed everytime I drove it and tried to wind down the leccy windows at the same time, as anyone whose ever driven one will tell you they are in the most stupid place! You have to take your eyes right off the road and lean forward to operate them! ( they are located in the centre between the gear stick and the handbrake, great french design enginuity for ya!) It did handle relatively well, but feck speeding in the thing, as you'd be fecked if you hit anything!

    Think yourself lucky I had to spend a few hours cleaning a 1.0litre Citreon AX, as my girlfriend has finally seen the light and bought a Sporty MK5 Polo! A least the effort was worth it as the guy took one look and agreed it was mint and said he'd have it, never even drove it!

    To be honest Mark he'd probably be shitting himself or drooling from the noise of the VR! And when the Saxo's have finished struggling to pull the skin off a rice pudding, he may be able to still see the rear of my VR disapearing well into 3 figures!

    Right let me get this correct..... your going to spend your wedge on putting in an engine you don't rate Mark? An engine which can pull a MK3 Golf to well over 140mph is lazy and slow?

    LOL, well I'm down to 2 dubs now and my mrs's Mk5 Polo! I can finally can get the VR out of the garage without having to move 3 cars to do it! And more importantly I only have my name on 2 car log books now, so won't get anymore of them aweful DVLA fines! VR6Steve: I'll drop the next batch off at yours then! LOL!

    I've got Koni's and they are a bit hard even when turned down, never tried H & R, but have only heard good things about them.

    Well I finally had to do it, only have the VR and the GTI left now, after the neighbours kept hinting about all the Dubs outside my house, something had to give! So the MK3 that I was stripping and my complete, and fully functional Scirocco that I have been trying to sell had to go, after got a fine for having 2 untaxed cars outside my house! So went and borrowed my uncles Hiab lorry and picked them up and took them to the yard. We goosed about in them for a bit, racing around the yard smashing them up a bit etc.... then did some more perminent mods to them the simple way! I'm going to get in

    Look in the boot, there will be a white sticker under the boot carpet with the paint code written on it. But if it is Purple with matching leather, the colour is Mulberry as Steve said.

    I currently have the VR, a Mk2 1990 GTI, a 1990 Scirocco GTII, but really want a E30 325i 2 door BMW to play in! So something has to go very soon!

    PS. don't get a K and N as mine fell apart after about 4 months on the VR! Take a peek in the classifieds on here or that well known auction site, as there are always ones for sale in there.

    They sound awesome witha cone filter, half the reason I have had mine so long, just don't think I could live without that noise! They are quiet of you are driving "sensibly", but nail the GO pedal and all hell breaks loose! So boring driving my other VW's as they sound pants compared to the VR!

    So is it Ok to use the Mann Oil Filters from GSF? Only reason I ask is that I'm planning on doing an oil change this weekend, and have already got my Filter from GSF.

    Evil if you have the plastic arches on yours you can work out where yours are rubbing and gentle with a little heat bend the arches in a bit (you need the heat to stop the paint from peeling/cracking) I used a Wooden mallet on mine to fine tune them ;o)

    They did do a Mk3 Colour Concept VR6 in Germany and Austria, if I remember correctly.
