  1. not saying gti's don't have EDL...just don't know. i haven't even sat in a gti let alone had a hunt about one.
  2. with zymol its pretty even...but with autoglym it was easier on the punto. think the results speak for themselves... Click here as pic to big for forum [ Edited Mon Sep 06 2004, 01:34PM ]
  3. just noticed your username has corrado in it, as far as i know all 'rado's are obd1.
  4. ob1 is upto and including m plate cars, obd2 is n plate onwards.
  5. nah...not all non-vr6's are the same system. vr6's have EDL incorporated inthe system, not sure what other models have EDL but i'd imagine only 16v's at best.
  6. no reason why an older car should not come up as shiny as a new one...my vr6 certainly comes up as shiny as my last car which was an '00 car.
  7. vr6 are supposed to idle at 500-700 the ISV is the silver cylindrical thing at the back of the engine under the plug lead guides, next to a big black plastic thing. not sure if obd2's have them though.
  8. usually next day at mine...gsf or ecp do genuine ones i thinks.
  9. if they have to matched, surely the cheapest solution is to wait till you find a full vr6 being broken and try and get both the pump and the ecu?
  10. use new gaskets unless you got some recently, i'd get new bolts as well.
  11. those prices seem pretty good to me...within a year i'll need a head rebuild...was quoted £600 elsewhere...may just get a stage 1 instead.
  12. on obd1 the control module is either under the rear seat (on '93 on cars) or somewhere in the passenger footwell ('92 cars)...it should be plug and play as long as the part no's match.
  13. pete's right...for obd2 you have to match the pump to the ecu and you have to use vag-com for bleeding. if your car is obd1 it may be simpler.
  14. i use zymol cleaner wax as well....www.zymol.co.uk
  15. man that sucks looks like a good bodyshop should be able to sort it without getting a new bumper for not too much.
  16. i'd bet good money that they will rub
  17. oooh bet they cost a bit mind. the type i have certainly wont cut through the hose, its mega tough.
  18. sometimes these things happen, no point getting irate then.
  19. yeah, did take another pic but its not come through to my e-mail yet. i'm gonna get new red finishers so it matched the HT leads.
  20. was it a genuine error, or was he being a twat?
  21. there was steam coming out of absolutly everywhere! its typical...had driven all the way there on safe mode (got probs with the hall sender), and then something unrelated breaks. it was rediculously wet, foggy (went over the pflanzgarten 'jump' with ten feet visability!), and slippy (seriously down on power, taking it very easy, and still had understeer at adenauer forst). decided when i go back next toime i'm gonna fly and hire an audi TT (you can hire decent stuff in germany)...will cost the same as driving over there...plus you don't have to drive through the sh*thole that is france.
  22. i have actually been in the back of a TT for 10miles! just lay across them with my feet up by one window and my head up by the other...did start to feel like i was in a coffin mind.

  24. i reckon the discs will be different offset, and that the caliper will need spacering out....but i may be wrong. only one way to find out.
