ok remove the laquer with paint stripper then starting with 120 grit wet n dry remove any imperfections in the alloy then go through the grades removing EVERY scratch left by the previous grade until you get to 2000. Then you need a set of polishing mops (www.frost.co.uk) read the instructions and start buffing... when you can see your face in them, stop. It took me nearly 10 hours a wheel just to do the cut outs so patience is the order of the day
