finally got an answer from VF... The questions I need answering are with regards to the belts and mounts. As some people are planning to install air-con on VR6?s that originally don?t have it from standard. How would they go about that? Most aftermarket a/c installers use suppliers who deal with OEMs and therefore use most of the same parts if not generic that the OEM used. There are 2 types of setups on VR6: 1) the accessories are all on one bracket, alt, ac, ps. 2) the ps is on its own bracket and the ac and alt are on another btk. either way if the car came with no ac, there will still be

doesnt sound like squeeking.... just a whine noise, ive heard a fair few VR6's make this noise when cold, but as soon as it warms up it's fine.

as far as i can tell, the standard inlet manifolds are very restrictive in comparason to a Schrick. I cant really see any gains in polishing and porting the inlet manifolds, however, i've had a few beers and could be getting the wrong end of the stick Pete -

dont forget, the fuel filter isnt a service-able part so you will have to buy one in advance.

It's a 2 hour drive for me, but it's the only garage I can trust to work on my VR.

go to a VW specialist, it will save you in the long run, also fo to a specialist who has the VAG-COM, stealth racing is probbly your best bet. give them a call on 01926 812259.
