  1. nope. OBD2 conversions are quite popular as it will make the engine run / drive that much smooother, as it has all the later stuff like MAF, throttlebody, lambda, ECU, inlet manifold etc... usually gives more low end torque.... too, will be doing mine in a month or so on the C. Pete
  2. interesting.... i want to try and make my headlights look better on the corrado as they have various scratches and small stonechips... if anyone can recommend a product, let me know and i'll get the DA on it!
  3. yeah, or if you dont want to do a conversion, start off by doing an OBD2 conversion on your Corrado.. Pete
  4. Jesus! Surely that cannot be safe? Even less tyre surface on the road
  5. Hi, If you are keen to resolve the situation then i'm sure jason will update the thread to indicate a suitable resolution has been reached. The whole reason of this section is to resolve disputes / problematic transactions. Pete
  6. Purchased a Sony head unit from Daverse, posted out promptly, well packaged and all in working order as expected was a pleasure to do business Cheers Pete
  7. tell tail sign is our rad is cold, one hose hot, other one cold...
  8. have you verified your thermostat is functioning?
  9. sounds like the seal has gone on your header tank mate.once the system has pressurised up, it will try and escape from any hole in the system... you can pick up new lids cheap enough... if you are sure the bottle is ok, then just get a new lid... AFAIK the cap should be secure and not come loose easily Pete
  10. It says on the eBay link for the heatwrap FREE 8 x Stainless Steel Ties 6mm Wide x 360mm Long FREE Wouldn't have thought you'd need more than 8?
  11. Any chance of a sound clip / video of the knocking noise? Get your self to billing and put your name down for the welding tuition bungy is doing
  12. When is it mate? I came the other year but by time I got there you'd all buffered off lol
  13. I think VW dealers can re-code the fobs.
  14. sounds like your yellow sensor could be at fault mate.... that controls the fans + aux pump + temp guage in the car... try bridging the wires on that plug... also try bridging the black plug also,,, i think that controls speed 3. other causes could be the fan switch or FCM. start with the easiest things first
  15. Agreed. Never had a single problem with my raceland on any of my cars now...

    oil

Alot of people are now rating Motul X-cess 8100 (which is a fully synthetic oil, 5W-40) more than Syntha these days... burning less oil over 1,000miles than syntha and also a 2 - 4 degree drop in oil temerature... I think I'll be trying some of this in my VR6 when I do the next oil change...
  17. That is strange mate... unusual for all 4 to be gone... There's a front ABS sensor on here for sale atm... buy it, fit it... if it still comes up with that as a fault, then you know the issue is NOT with the sensors and therefore not worth changing them.... Post up the VAG-COM error codes... If you are OBD2, then you will need to swap the ECU and Pump as they are 'matched' up... could be more of a wiring thing... have you checked all the plugs on the ABS ECU / Pump to make sure they are not corroded or anything? Pete
  18. I asked this question while getting my MOT on my punto other week... He said if a car is fitted with ABS and the light doesn't come on at all, or stays on indicating a fault it's an MOT failure. I've now fixed my ABS.. Easy fix in the end... what's wrong with yours? Have you had it on Vag Com? Chances are it's just a wheel sensor... Cheap as chips and it's a DIY job...
  19. Obd1 is double chain but get the later guide tensioner as it's more durable.
  20. Sounds like engine mount.... Pop your bonnet with handbrake on, get your mate stick in in gear and slowly take foot off clutch with handbrake still on.. If your mounts have gone there will be loads of movement...
  21. wheel advice needed http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?436627.0
  22. Well, this is an interesting find.... found it in my folder.... had the car nearly 2 years and never actually read through the docs I got... Interesting if these bits have been replaced.... the car aint moved since the summer of 2009 and now on 117k so all these should be fairly fresh.. although I did replace the track rod ends during the rebuild.... will have to check the receipts to see if they telly up with this work... Pete
  23. possible CV joint of wheel bearing perhaps, assuming the knocking noise increases the faster you go?
