Dont know if this has been done before on this forum but here's mine:-

After that followed a couple of Mk1 Golf Gti 1.8's and my favourite Mars red Mk1 Campaign which i owned for 7 years and it evolved into a carb fed 16V kr engined , big braked,poly bushed, coil over suspensioned monster with over 185bhp 8o) - when this started to rot i re-shelled it in to a shabby looing Mk1 driver - oh the fun iu had in that crappy looking thing ,

Then i went onto a Pug 205Gti 1.9 - great car if a little skittish and flimsy 8o) ,

With the knowledge of my first child i wantedsomething a little more solid so i bought a Saab 900 T16S

and replaced near every moving component over the years - i modified it into one of if not the most powerful examples in the UK - the car was very well known amongst the Saab forums but unfortunately it was getting too compromised as a daily driver so i sold it recently to fund the Vr6 i had already bought.

I guess you could say im smitten with the VR and its seductive engine - its not overtly great at anything it does out of the box but it is very good at all things and those areas are easily improved because of the array of bits and pieces that are available off the shelf.

Ill be here to stay a while 8o)

Cavalier 1.6 (X reg) in Terracotta at 17 years old - that was a groovy 1st car when my mates had Mini 850cc and Escorts 1.3's.

Orion Ghia 1.6 (B reg) in black (I loved that car - it was like a pimp mobile)

Good thing about having sporty cars - always found them easy to sell onwards! Do prefer VW build quality to Ford. It just took me a few years to realise! 8o)

1) 1.1 Fiesta at the age of 16 which i used to take to school b4 i even passed my test

2) New Ford Escort 1.4 L - had that for 2 years - dont know why but it quite fackin quick!

3) VW Golf MK3 1.6 - needed some wheels for University so couldnt afford anything else! Only had it a year.

4) C class Merc, in Black dropped with 17's - Pimp daddy at Uni Only sold 4 months ago.

5) Mk 3 Golf GTI 8V - Tornado Red.

Best looking car i've ever had - miss the b1tch too much ( and my Alpine system i left in it )

6) Volvo T5 - fancied a change - No grip but NOTHING on the road could touch it... in a straight line - bye bye Boxster

7) Presently a late VR6 - 5dr totally standard. Thinking of selling it and getting a 2dr Highline.

Also own 2001 BMW 7 series Sport - For when i'm cruisin' of course Only problemo is she's an Auto and a bit lardy :| hence why I use the VR for daily transport.

Tommy - how do you find the perfomance comparison between the Mk2 16V and the VR6??

Ive driven a stock valver for a while and from experience i reckon theres not much in it - they even seem farily similar in power delivery - what ya reckon??

1 998cc Mini, bags of fun.

2 1l fiesta mk1, paid £150, reliable runarround, sold £300.

3 XR2, great car, ruined by other drivers and a deer!

4 Pug 205 Gti 1.9 totally standard, brilliant drive, bit rattley but 100% usable power, miss it...

5 Series 1 Mazda Rx7, loads of character and ability.

6 Mk 2 Gti 8V, Better build quality than Mk3, cheap performance.

5 VR6, don't know why I like it so much but I do ;-), awesome sound and solidity, always gets respect. Now I've had more than 4 cylinders I fancy forced induction, can't ignore the corrado though, VR6 power with proper handling....tempting :-0
