i was driving to my mates last nite and hit a rather big pot hole, and yep ive buckled my 17'' alloy wheel. drove my car this morning and the tyre was flat! pumped it up and it goes back down after a while. bloke in garage said i need a new alloy. (no shit i said!). thing is what do i do? my wheels have been painted a different colour, so it wouldnt be the same anyway. do i get a new set of rims and put my tyres on them? by the way i have 215 40 r17's at the moment, would i be better of with 205 40 r17's instead?

pls can i have some help, unsure what to do..

just realised your cars white!! it looks silver in the avtar! yeah black wheels is mean, cant you get some off the bay of lurve? loads on there, my mate got a set of genuine 17" Audi S4 rims for his 52 reg passat, they had good 225 tyres on too for £140 on christmas eve!! auction ended at 01:00 hours so the guy selling was a plank for that listing time finish! 5 spoke audi TT alloys would look good painted in dark graphite grey on your car imo

Take a photo of the pot hole and the damage to your wheel, and get garage to write a formal letter detailing the damage and cost to repair etc, and take your local council to the small claims court. Citizens Advice B should be able to advise you better. You should be able to get some compensation due to the damage caused. I've known many people with lowered cars get damaged on speed bumps that were above the legal 10cms max height limit and got compensation for the damaged caused. Definitely worth doing.
