  1. 2000/01 Volkswagen Golf Mk4 2.8 v6 4Motion Highline 5dr Great example of a quite rare and high spec car. Well maintained with relatively low miles. 112k – Full Service History, 13 stamps (6 prior and 7 during my ownership), all receipts and oem parts used. Haldex serviced twice by me. Extensive book (about an inch thick, pic doesn’t do justice) with all MOTs and history. HPI clear. All spare keys and codes.Full MOT - Jun 2020, passed easilyFully serviced - oil (Mobil 1) & filter, rear brakes (calliper, cables, Brembo discs & pads), haldex oil & filter, aux belt and tensioner.Fairly standard car which has been looked after in the 8 years I’ve owned it. Came fully loaded with most options except leather. Minor changes or upgrades made to improve handling mostly with bulk of the effort put into maintenance. Always serviced with quality or VW parts, 4-wheel alignment done routinely and anything replaced prior to actually needing it. The car has the original wings and sills with no rust, top mounts/engine bay are rust free. Underside is in very good condition; the standard exhaust was off the car and stored for the past 6 years with having a Milltek fitted so is in great condition. Upgrades• Green Panel Filter• VW R32 Front and Rear ARBs, VW lower tie brace, Eibach Pro Springs with VW Factory shocks all fairly recent• Fan Resistor Module Fixed and wired properly• Flush Illuminated Vents added and wired to factory standard• Factory 6 Disc front loading in dash CD changer (original multidisc still in boot panel with wiring present and original cubby hole for dash)• Parrot Hands Free• Special Ed Silver Interior Trim (except gear knob)• 17” RS4 Reps with Toyo T1R 225/45/17 tires with plenty of treadBad Points• Cosmetic related to age – stone chips, front splitter not 100%, slight lacquer peel on driver’s door, bumper scuffs on corners, spider web crack on rear bumper scuff panel. Only rust on the car is on inner side of bootlid at latch. The paint isn’t perfect but as shown in photos with a wash and a hand wax it looks pretty good for 19 years old! A good detailing (which I had professionally done by PMG a few years ago) freshens a little more. Both sets of wheels need a refurb, originals are just aged and need refreshed, the current 17s were a cheap quick replacement last year for a change. Can honestly say pretty much all cosmetic (bar the odd stone chip) is as was when I bought it and none have gotten worse due to maintenance and care of the car. • Drivers right side seat bolster has worn relative to the age, single cigarette burn on drivers door arm rest, grey cloth headlining – not bad but a few noticeable marks from oily mechanics hands, the rest of the interior is in very good condition. • Rear passenger door is off sometimes on the drivers central locking button (can provide a new unit I haven’t had the chance to fit)• Very slight weep from the thermostat housing unit - large seal for the whole box was on order the last time coolant and thermostat were changed, not a big expense and in the meantime, topped the coolant up once in past 3 months. Can also include some parts for the car that were the bits I replaced or I haven’t gotten around to fitting; Original 16” “Brands Hatch” wheels, Rear Spoiler – black but needs painted, Original Wooden Trim Kit, Standard Vents, Chrome silver boot struts, 5dr Wind deflectors.I have been honest in my assessment of the car - probably making it sound worse than it could possibly look from the photos! I’ve tried to include pics of anything important and just detailing anything that isn’t perfect with the car. Bearing in mind it is 19 years old, it is probably one of the cleaner Mk4s available and with a little bit of time from the new owner could be even better again. Mechanically the car is great, cosmetically it shows its age a little, but importantly a rust-free example. I’ve owned it for 8 years, brought it from England with 66k and had no issues since – just need something bigger. Service history and file detail the interest I’ve had in maintaining and preserving the car with most of the standard niggles fixed or replaced. Located 15 Minutes from Belfast (Port and City Airport), 20 mins from International Airport and Larne Harbour. Happy to collect genuine interested buyers. MK4 Golf 4Motion VR6 2.8 4WD 3 Door Very Rare for the Condition she is in Every Receipt & MOT since the car was built Full Service with Oil, Fuel and all filters replaced last month All round Coilovers and Uprated Bushes R32 Exhaust BCA Forced air induction TT Alloys in Black Full Black Leathers HID Lights 8 Months MOT Not Messed with just kept well looked after Pulls well in every gear with no knocks or bangs Minor issues Passenger door latch sometimes doesn't do a full cycle (common) but has been OK for 3 months. EML on as I suction kit fitted, replace with original airbox and goes off, or get mapped out. That's it!!

    FOR SALE IS MY VW GOLF, 5 DOOR, MK4 V6 4MOTION. Had the car for about 3 months and done 1200 faultless miles on it, but have decided i want to sell the car to fund a mk4 R32. I drove all over the country to find the right car for me and this one ended up being the side of town. lol. So the car specs as follows. In no order at all... Black (LC9Z) 5 door. Full history stamped upto 66k. receipts for other services there after. The car will be going in for a full service, new front/rear disc and pads with the rear calipers being replaced as they have started to bind on 28/09/2016 . Mileage at 81K, goes up slightly everyday due to work and home travel. 6 Former Keepers. 2 Keys V5 Present. Original Handbook. Cruise Control. Full central locking. Full leather interior Heated front Seats. 4 Electric windows Rear windows privacy glass Laminex headlight protector film (smoked) Wind deflectors Standard V6 4 Motion alloys with all very good tires. Also a second set of standard alloys with very good tires. Bought to refurb. Also have a 3rd set of Santa Monica alloys that need a refurb but tires are shot. May throw in for the right price. Kenwood DAB, Bluetooth, CD stereo. Iphone compatible. HPI Clear. Bad Bits. Dent in the roof but nothing major - See pics. Slight scuff to front bumper passenger side but not really noticeable. Belt Tensioner makes a noise sometime but nothing major. Slight stone chip/dent in bonnet but nothing major. The car has loads of paper work and has been looked after by myself and washed and cleaned at the local detailing place. All the mods (if that's what you want to call them) can be taken off and put back to standard very easily with minimal effort. Does not leak water or lose any oil. Mechanically the is faultless.   5. VW's new 496bhp 3.0-litre VR6 engine

    VW's new 496bhp 3.0-litre VR6 engine New 3.0-litre twin-turbo VR6 revealed in a series of technical illustrations Cutaway shots of the Volkswagen Golf GTI Design Vision GTI concept have revealed that it appears to use a new VR6 engine, as opposed to the previously rumored V6. Volkswagen has not confirmed whether the engine is indeed a VR6 but, judging by the configuration of the intake and exhaust systems, it seems likely to be the case. The new six-cylinder engine, which has a single cylinder head and a claimed 15-degree angle between its rows of cylinders, is said to displace 3.0 litres. Thanks to direct fuel injection and twin turbochargers, its output is stated to be a substantial 496bhp and 413lb ft. It's reputedly set to see service in future models, which may include high-performance versions of the Volkswagen CC and the recently unveiled Cross Blue coupé — although the engine will most likely be detuned for economy, emissions and drivability reasons. A senior Porsche engineer confirmed that the new Volkswagen engine was a narrow-angle VR6, but that it wasn't in any way related to new engines being developed for the Porsche Macan. It's not yet known whether the new unit is a development of an existing VR6 or an all-new engine, or if it will be available in UK models, but it is thought that its smaller capacity - compared to recent VR6 units - is a result of a Chinese-market specific tax break. Volkswagen has a long history of popular VR6 engines; the first were developed in the late 1980s and introduced in 1991 in the Corrado and Passat. Later, the engine made its way into the Golf. The new Golf Design Vision concept, which is equipped with a transversely mounted 496bhp version of the new VR6, is capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in a super-car-rivaling 3.9sec. Its top speed is 190mph.

    I bought this car last year in with the intention of super charging it, due to other commitments and work I no longer have the time for it. The car is in use every weekend so milage may increase a little. It was originally an Auto and was converted professionally by the previous owner. Gear box is smooth and is perfect no issues what so ever. The gearbox was removed from a donor vehicle that covered 100k miles. Auxiliary belt has been changed old one is in the boot. In the process of having the manual conversion the clutch was also replaced with a brand new one. I have no proof of this as I was told by the previous owner. I have no reason to doubt his claim as everything else was how he described. Engine is superb no leaks or rattles, I drove this back over 300 miles when I purchased it and I enjoyed every minute of it. Currently it has covered approximately 117,750 miles, No sign of chain rattle or wobbly pulleys, they seem fine. The car stands quite at idle, even at speed unless you hit the throttle which brings out the amazing VR6 grunt. I have pictures of work being carried out for anyone to view. *Exterior Bodywork for the age is outstanding in my opinion, no rust under arches or in any other common rust spots, only bit of rust noted is on the roof where the windscreen meets the body. Its about the size of a 10p coin. Underneath is the same very clean for the age of the car, as you know the sills are a weak point on these, will probably need attention in the near future. I had it undersealed not so long ago. Small surface scratches here and there and a few stone chips on the bonnet, I put this down to wear and tear. Wheels are near mint condition slight curbing on the rears on inner lip (I have stretched tyres) genuine 16" staggered Porsche D90's in gunmetal grey with fantastic tyre thread all round (almost like new) 6J at front 8J at rear. They have been fitted using 20MM FK hub centric adaptors. *Interior Headlining restored in black velvet leaving some areas as highlights (see pics) looks lovely and it really sets this car apart from others. A polished show cage is fitted, if not to your taste it is easily removed. The front seats have been replaced with genuine MK4 Recaro's they look stunning and really keep you in the seat when driving and taking corners. These will still need a little adjusting if I have to be honest, they work as they should. The heating element for these can be retrofitted, switches are still present. Currently not connected. *Fresh 12 months MOT (June 2017) *Stainless steel 6 branch exhaust manifold *Polished Corrado 2.9 inlet manifold (better air intake) *PCV valve deleted *Air Con deleted *Rear wiper deleted *R-power induction kit (cone style) *Upgraded 10MM HT leads *MK4 full leather Recaro seats *MK4 gear knob (wood style) *High flow sports cat *Sebring exhaust (centre & rear) *Genuine Moretti quad headlights with 8K HID's *Adjustable coil-overs (all round) *Original spark plug remover on bonnet catch *Aero wiper upgrade *Power windows/Tilt & slide E.Sunroof/E.Side mirrors *New Crank sensor fitted 16/06/2016 *6 previous owners *Bad bits Front driver side headlight is cracked. Glass can be purchased online via Ebay etc. Part service history + VOSA MOT printouts. This can be verified online by anyone. A Few bits need attention as mentioned which are not very concerning or expensive to fix. Very reluctant sale as I put in a lot of my time and money in getting it near mint, I'm not desperate to sell so wont be letting it go for peanuts so please no haggling, I have been very honest in describing the vehicle there maybe things I have forgotten therefore I will update as soon as possible. I did a complete HPI when purchasing and it was all clear. But please do your own checks for peace of mind. *Extras I have quite a few new and used bits and pieces that Im happy to give with the car, these will be added at NO EXTRA cost if my asking price is met.   8. Introduction (ZIG)

    Hey guys my name is Kshitij, i'm guessing almost everyone of you guys won't be able to pronounce my name so you can just call me Zig. I'm new to this site and with the v6s. I own a 2001 mk4 golf v6 4 motion which i love. (insurance is killing me though as I am 20 and will be 21 in Jan next year). I would like to broaden my knowledge about the engine and the whole car generally. My previous car was mk4 1.6 golf which is dreadful but I still loved it to bits. I was patiently waiting to be able to afford a v6 and am ready to start modding the car for pure performance (with a little bit of looks in mind). I am hoping that you guys will help me out with my questions and I hope that i will be of some help too! That's it for now i guess and am looking forward to living with my v6 Oh yeah I will post the picture of my car once I take a picture of it.
  9. EPC Light

    Hey Guys, So a few days ago I was on the motorway and hit 2 big puddles of water. The car was fine for about 10 mins. It then jerked to which i noticed the EPC and ESP lights come on. I carried on driving as all seemed OK. After a while when I was on a down hill (so foot off the throttle) I saw the EPC light go off but ESP still remaining on. When I again pushed the throttle for a second there was no power and then jerked and the power came back in and the EPC light returned. When i came off the motorway the car would not idle and die. If i start the car and rev it up (above 3000) i can drive it. Its strange as the problem is intermittent. Yesterday i went to start it. Started fine,idled, drove fine (with EPC light on) and after 15min of driving the EPC light would go off and the jerking would start. Today i start it, the EPC light goes off after 3 secs and the car dies. I need to take the car to an auto electrician but any help from you guys would be awesome!! 2003 MK4 V6 4Motion Shap!
