  1. Jack your car up and check the bottom ball joints, it is likely one is worn. I can't see it being a rack but if you do need one, these guys are really good, service exchange set up ACS
  2. Why not tie the meets in with other VAG group forums? I know of regular meets every month on another forum I use, they meet in Manchester also a North West meet at the Stretton Fox each month also. Just a thought....
  3. VCDS will also do this but once disabled the airbag light will illuminate, that is why I have installed 2 ohm resistors to the seat loom, the resistor I have for the steering wheel also gives a reading of 2.2 ohms.
  4. This is the one I got with a second hand steering wheel the other week, not sure of the resistance though, need to check it, the black and brown wires are for the horn. Yellow bit and red wires are the airbag resistor.
  5. I removed the airbags from my seats and used a 2.2ohm resistor from Maplin for 60p, I also think you can buy an airbag delete kit but these are around £15.
  6. I passed a VR6 Corrado today, heading south on the M6 towards Tebay, middle lane and getting a blasting from the wind, I bet your MPG was dire as I was only getting 34 mpg from my diesel! Hope you got home safe whoever you are as the driving conditions were really bad.
  7. Going back to the Ebay/toyo turbo kit, if you want to achieve 2 bar of boost and 450bhp+ I would imagine the kit would struggle with this but if you are looking for a starting point, 7-10 psi boost and 80-100 bhp increase would they be ok then? Less loading etc
  8. Whilst on the theme of Christmas, for those who have children and those who are just looking for a laugh, go and send a message from santa to your children from Santa PNP, you can upload pictures and choose what you want santa to say to your kids, it scared the crap out of my daughter as she panicked how santa knew about her. Here it is Santa PNP All the best to you all.
  9. Have a look on HERE, should find what you are looking for. I changed the one on my 4 Mo for a quick rack, only found out when I tried to fit it and the track rods are thicker than standard and the steering is heavier now than it was with the old rack AND it turns quicker Don't remember the part number though.
  10. I have a turbo off ebay and it is very well finished and compared to other high end turbos feels, looks and measures up to be a good comparison. My car is not a daily drive but when I get around to fitting I will report back on how good/bad it really is.
  11. Never ever work on a weekend and haven't for the last 15 years, Saturday is usually a family day as we are altogether but Sundays are do what you want day as the wife works and my children are 18 and 14 years old so I am a free man, unless my lads Lupo needs anything and then it usually spent passing on knowledge to him so he can keep it on the road. Today I have been driving around the surrounding areas of Leeds looking for a new home for next year, has to be rural, we liked Otley north of Leeds and also Denby Dale and around Holmfirth, who knows where we will end up?
  12. Yes, I know, once the new injectors go in and the turbo fitted a lot of settings need changing.. Remap etc
  13. Steering angle sensor, I had that issue, I ended up using VCDS to re calibrate it, I then got an ABS warning light, I had to sit in a large car park, press the foot brake firmly down until the ABS light started to flash, once flashing drive the car under 15 mph whilst steering from lock to lock, after a few turns the light went off and everything was set. Injectors, I have got 630cc or 60lb depending in where you live.
  14. I thought about doing the same, running low boost etc but after speaking to people on many forums it is easier and not much more expensive to whizz the head off and fit one of these. United Motorsport will sort you out with it. I am staying with the standard clutch though, change it if it dies, I am also looking for around 350-400 bhp.
  15. Mine is definitely off after the re code with VCDS, even pressing the button on the dash now does nothing at all, no dash light, most importantly though a full four wheel slide is possible without the ESP trying to slow things down, just a simple code change to disable and re enable if the need should arise.
  16. Looks to be a cheap MK 4 V6 4 Motion going on flea bay, it looks ok for the bids so far. Have a look, item number 390713214285
  17. I have heard Loba did an 1150bhp MK 2 but I can't find any youtube on it though. Quite incredible what can be achieved from most of the family cars available these days.
  18. It is reliable Pete, this car has been running for years as the daily drive, it has also had many different turbo's on there too in the development. Before this he had a MK 2 diesel that ran santa pod in high 10's, so he knows his stuff, he will be assisting me with the turbo fitting to the MK 4 V6 over the next few months. His next project is another G60 shell with Haldex AWD system and a TTRS straight 5 turbo motor, figure of 800 bhp is the target. He is on Tdi club as TDI RS, you can search and find his build of the diesel Golf, this current MK 2 has been done under the radar, I was sur
  19. real figures mate, the guy who owns this is really good at what he does. I will ask him if he has the dyno print out.
  20. Not like the sound of a 6 potter Lukey that's for sure but it is an impressive set of stats for a 4 pot.
  21. I ask because I was reading this on FaceBook in the MK 2 owners area, very impressive stats for a 2.0 8 valve turbo motor with only 4 cylinders, 475 bhp and 608nm torque! I know it is not a V6 and this is a V6 domain but you have to admit quite impressive and used as a daily drive too. Here is the LINK to Facebook and below are some pictures of the car. Very stock looking Golf G60 left hooker. Power plant.
  22. not me I think it is crap.
  23. A little more weight reduction this afternoon, rear wiper and motor removal, door card and electric window removal too, I estimate at least 10 kilos removed, some of which has been recycled into the Lupo, tweeters and speakers have been listed as Lupo bits now. I will do the other door tomorrow, also the door can still open via a pull cord like an old Mini. Rear window looks good too.
