  1. While sitting at home with some time on your hands, I recommend a read through this project that is being done, it started in July 2012 and is still going on to this very day, when it is done it will be an incredible car and I shudder to think what has been spent on it! Enjoy click this link
  2. OK, Brembo's are now fitted and I have to say it was a really simple mod, an easy removal of the old callipers and discs, also removed the rusted shield thing, and then on with the discs and Brembo's. Before we bolted everything up tight and took off the brake pipe to the old calliper we trial fitted the wheel, glad we did as it is close, I mean very close! However it does clear the wheel and therefore we carried on. Once everything was bolted up tight, it was time to bleed them up, nipples were a bit tight so I have ordered some new but for now I managed to open and tighten them enough to g
  3. He is making me a bespoke turbo back exhaust for my MK 4, next week we will make a cat back, also a de cat pipe and then, when we fit the turbo he will make the down pipe. All stainless and hand made for very reasonable price comparable with a milltek or similar.
  4. Speak to Russ Fellows, he will fabricate anything to a high standard, follow this link to his website. RUSS FELLOWS

  6. I will be fitting my Brembo's this Sunday but will keep an eye out for future meets to attend.

  8. Krispy Creme, the only donuts made from truffle oil! They cost a fortune and taste shit. However I could possibly be up for the meet
  9. I have tried to post in the track day action section but get this message.....
  10. another sweet 5 potter, Dahlback knows how to set a car up, well worth a search in youtube.
  11. split it at the bolts mate, need to persuade it a little. this is what is left after splitting it.
  12. A few of my favourites. Audi Quattro S1 Escort BDA This is a V engine Metro 6R4 and of course the sound of the VR6 but you know what that sounds like.
  13. I have just took 312mm off my 4 motion as they were OK but not fantastic on track, I was running Ferodo DS2500 pads and standard discs. I now have Brembo 323mm from a Leon Cupra R and DS3000 pads, I have also opted for HEL performance braided hoses for front and rears. You can see HERE what I have bought but not yet fitted. BTW, we are going to Oulton Park on Feb 21st if you want to fetch your Golf to the track? MSV
  14. New brake lines arrived today, HEL made the fronts to suit the MK 4 Golf and Brembo upgrade, rears are standard MK 4. I must just add that Ben Viner at HEL performance was a great guy to deal with, can't recommend them enough. HEL Performance Shiny new lines
  15. I don't know, do somebody a favour and everybody jumps to all sorts of conclusions. Anybody else needs VCDS you know where I am. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. And now with a bit of paint on the carriers, I chose matt black because this was the only paint I had in the garage
  17. No worries, off to charge the laptop

  19. I will be staying in Leeds tomorrow night for work so if you want to come to the premier inn I will scan your motor for you. I will be in the one behind the Porsche dealership just off jct 1 of the M621
  20. Started to have a clean up of the Brembo's tonight, I used isopropyl alcohol but the black stuff was a bit reluctant to leave, so I had a go with some MEK, that shifted it, kept it away from the rubbers. I also removed the carriers and de rusted them with a wire brush on the drill, then applied some paint to make them look a bit better, at this stage I am not going to paint the callipers, just get them on and ready for February 21st track day, then when the bit of pad that is left is reduced I will replace the pads and get the callipers made to look pretty! Before After
  21. These are the moisture absorbers, they have an indicator too but this seems a bit hit and miss.
  22. Mate, it is a very civilised environment, if somebody is approaching fast behind you simply move to the right and let them past, if you are approaching somebody fast they will move over for you to pass. All events are well marshalled and I would recommend it to you as it is a really good day out. Here is some in car footage give you an idea of what happens.
  23. We have a Fabia VRS that is murder for condensation, car is two years old! Anyway it would seem it is quite normal so to overcome the issue I have bought these, they are fantastic and reusable. They are basically a couple of bags of silica gel in a net bag, leave them in the car and your condensate problem goes away, when they are saturated you can heat them on a radiator or in the oven or microwave to dry them out, then use them again. Seems to have disappeared off Ebay though..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/divemr I will photograph what i have to give you an idea
