  1. Ok, thanks for that guys. Think I will have to look better when I get the brakes, I don't like the idea of using washers, then finding 6mm spacer plate? Might have a look in B&Q tomorrow, are the bolts M12?
  2. Only just seen this, I'm using my brothers old S3 brakes, presume they are the same as the TT? Also agree with the brake fluid change and braided hoses, all older cars everything is deteriorated and standard flexi hoses expand under pressure, worse when older. Part of the MOT test is to check the hoses under pressure but how many garages do you see check them properly on an MOT
  3. awesome, but appears like Lotus driver's are a bit soft
  4. The first time I've seen pics of this car as I'm new but awesome! A credit to you and your patient other half Pete
  5. It would need to be measured and fabricated accurately, or would cause bad in-balance, mine is an early 280mm setup. I'm just wondering if somebody already sells the adaptors to save messing about
  6. It is an early car, fairly sure the brake flexi is screw in. I'm more worried about the spacers. is there a company who does the spacers? or adaptors?
  7. Only a quick one, my brother has a 2002 S3 which he is getting a brake upgrade for the front, so I'm getting his old brakes for my Mk3 Golf, what do I need to fit? I will have the discs, calipers and carriers. Will they go straight on or do I need adaptors
  8. haha, maybe somewhere a bit down the m6 ish then, might be a bit too far for some, pete
  9. Good start, my brother and a few other VW nuts I know will come. So somewhere along the east lancs? St. Helens, Preston, Manchester area
  10. could do with doing a list, i.e. north west, south, lincs, and people can put their name down. Good to see that guys from US are interested too, meets and pics will be good. I'm willing to travel, the North West is a big area, maybe somewhere around Cheshire ish to meet, Preston and surrounding areas aren't too far
  11. Same, no VW for a while but won't stop me meeting up. Think we need a list, members and areas. Manchester/ North West, London/ south, etc
  12. I used to be a member of the XROC North West, we used to meet up in Knutsford, bit of a raffle and pub quiz, good night. Members turned up and after meeting us decided to show their cars, they don't need to be show standard, I think that's what some think, but its not a case of that, we just go to meet up and get together Pete
  13. Sorry Surreyvr6, I can't quote for some reason.. I think its a good idea, no offence to others but I joined the club to meet other club members within our own club, and small local meets are good which tend to build up to bigger meets. If members turn up at other peoples or clubs meets a lot would just walk round, look at cars and drive off, because its not a VR6OC meet? Maybe I'm fussy, but we need our local members to meet up and support the club, hands up for Manchester/ north west!!!
  14. Is that a club? They might not like another owners club gate crashing. Plus I would be in a Ford Focus!! I was thinking more small for non active members to turn up and chat, might not be keen on a big gathering.
  15. I'm from Manchester, think it would be a good idea. There must be some of those lurkers want to meet like minded VR6 or VW enthusiasts. Bring the girlfriend or boyfriend, doesn't have to be car talk, Just to get to know other members/ community like Pete said, nice to put a face to the name, anybody else from Manchester area? If anybody interested, would be better somewhere not too far for people to travel but depends where people live Pete
  16. Same, I think people are still recovering from Christmas and new year, half asleep!! Will be good to meet a few members Pete
  17. That's good, last time I was there was for a rally driving experience, quite a few years ago. will be a good day Pete
  18. I would like to come along but wont be going on the track, how does it work for spectators? cheers pete
  19. I agree Pete, there are probably a lot of members out there, would be good to get numbers of members in the different areas who fancy meeting up? I would definitely meet up once a month to meet a few peeps, plus I miss doing the shows Pete
  20. Hi Pete, I think it would be good to have regional meets, the guys and girls who don't really go to the shows may come to local meets and then attend shows Pete
  21. Sorry, missed this swivelonit?. Did you mean CGTI? I did go a few times but a few years ago now, I used to be a member but also used to have meets in Rochdale aswell with good turnouts Pete
  22. I know CGTI Manchester meet up at a local as I went a couple of times, as I was a member and also a mate of mine from Rochdale, started arranging meets in the Rochdale area and we used to meet up once a month on a Saturday and quite a few used to turn up, even from Liverpool. Used to have a good turnout. Would be good to find out how many members are in the Manchester area and who would be interested in having a monthly meet? Pete
  23. Just wondering if there are any club meets or gatherings in the Manchester area regular, would be nice to meet a few club members as I'm new to the club. Thanks Pete
