Judging by the amount of dollar this work must have cost Pete, you could ovalise the new exhaust by throwing your wallet at it! :-)

    It's alive!
Rapid pace getting to this stage, and here is the first run obligatory video.

Got a new wheel bearing fitted and focus was on the exhaust as we are building a prototype for DubPower to bring to market an OEM style exhaust for the Corrado!
New vs my 20 year old standard system...

    Under car shot

    Standard exhaust

First trial fit getting the angle right

    Standard tailpipe

    DubPower tailpipe

The plan next is to ovalise it and give it a more slashcut look to make it more standard looking.
Waiting for the steering rack and for it to be MOT'ed before I can collect it.
    Can't wait!

Went down to cornwall a couple of weeks ago, took the vr for a short spin, gave it a bit of a clean, fitted front amber indicators and managed to start sanding down my obd1 rocker cover.

    Before

    Couple of hours later...

Still got a long way off getting a decent polish on it but will be well worth it. Hoping to get down this weekend to do a bit more

Hey! Newbie here to the VR6 game, I've had my golf for just over a month now and I'm loving it! Using it as a daily at the moment seeing how it goes.
Thought I would start a thread to show the progress.

Whats your goal for bhp? Pete is probably you best bet as I think his carrado is the highest na vr on the forum. But big money to do it. But here is what ive picked up from here and know from older projects.
First off the 6 branch on a vr6 has very limited gains as the ports are un equal aparently there is only one company thats actully managed a exhaust manifold with gains. Never looked into which company because its so pricey.
But heat is an enemy so heat wrap it up to lower you engine bay temps!
Mk4 metal head gasket is a cheep way to higher the compresion of the engine more compresion helps with the bangs.
After market lightened flywheels make a big difference to how a vr feels anything lighter than 9 pounds becomes a pain to live with. But remember even tho it feels more revy and responsive you loose touque.
Cams, well if you staying na then go crazy but again becomes a pain in the ass in traffic 182's are lumpy idle and high end revs to see the benefits. As you want to go na aswell bang in a set of uprated valve springs to prevent valve bounce when screaming in the high revs
Shrick manifolds get that low end punch in touque which the vr lacks. Exspensive but worth while im still in the market for one myself but theyre around 700 to 1000 depending on the finish and if you have the control box.
Re maps are your best friend. Vince can sort you out somthing to get all you mods working together nicely! But do it once the harware is installed as it can add up!
Blue printing the bottom end all rods and pistons made to the same weight with a balanced crank and arp studded rods help with high revving
Then head work. But its abit of a art to get a vr 12valve head to flow better leave this to the pros as you can take off too much and loose power.
Good luck mate and sorry for my poor spelling any questions just ask.

Just over £35 for the all the stuff mate.

£25 for the re-dye kit, and then about £10 on cleaning stuff. it's only enough to re-do the front seats, and maybe the door cards.
not enough to re-do all the rear seats as well. I only bought a 250ml of each colour.

if it was to buy it again, i would just buy the dye and leather finish,  not the full kit.
as the alcohol cleaner is just isopropanol, and we use this in my work to clean stuff.
and the leather prep is just acetone. or clear no fragrance nail varnish remover, or can be bought in 5L bottles from BnQ, wickes, etc.

you can buy just the dye and finish for around £10-12. and then just buy the cleaning stuff.
