    I don't like the dsg boxes. I may not be getting a mk5 R32 as I've just done a deal on a lovely mk5 gti. I'm putting the whole mk4 engine in mate. Just stripped it all ready to take my 2.9 out and swap the flywheel clutch and box onto the 24v engine and drop it in the car then sort the wiring

    I've drove my mates mk4 a few times now but there's a problem lol his is pushing 530bhp lol my mates a dealer and has a 2 mk5s in at the minute and I had a go of one of them and I liked it obviously nowhere near as brutal as my mates R32T lol Mines not ready for sale yet as I'm in the middle of doing a 2.8 24v conversion.

    Mk3s are starting to appreciate now so I'll kick myself in a few years time when there worth a fortune which will probably be the time when I fancy another one lol

    Oh well in that case Andy everything is just a straight swap. I'm not sure on the fuse box side of things tho. I think you'll have to use the vr6 clocks too. I'd say the easiest way to do the engine swap would be literally to unbolt the subframe with the engine, box and suspension all still attached to each other the bolt it all into the 1.4 shell. You'll also need the pedal box from the VR as I'd imagine the 1.4 will have a cable clutch and not hydraulic like the VR. Oh and possibly the shifter tower and rods/cables. I'd also use the rear axle too then you've got the rear discs from the VR

    I agree with Matt. It will go in with the v6 4mo engine mounts but then you'd have to get a 4mo gearbox with the mounts and obviously a transfer box blank then the wiring will be a piss on after that
