  1. done it into a corrado which isnt much different, go over to mk2vr6.com then project diaries , your see a thread by jayvr6 , can look at mine on here will give you an idea ,
  2. yea sure its possible but tbh unless theres a problem with the 2.8 the swap from 2.8 to 2.9 aint worth the hassel, iv had both and theres not much if any difference 2.8 golf and 2.9 raddo , you would be better off upgradeing your current one to obd2 if anything,
  3. with it being a litre difference think about the oil temp, less oil means its gona be harder to cool, more oil it will cool down quicker as it will transfer the heat out better, atleast thats how i think it would be anyway.
  4. the 12v steel one if i remember right uses a 1 litre less oil compared to the 24v 2.8 , to run the 3.2 sump on the 2.8 you need the 3.2 oil stuffs , cant remember exactly but im 99.9% sure you need to change the oil pump and not just the pick up, i was looking in to this but money was an issue so i just brought the 2.8 sump as mine was cracked,
  5. ah sweet, i didnt know that, so apart from the front cross memeber i can bolt up a vr6 and a gearbox easy peasy! , i'll see how this abf wants to play and if it doesnt play ball its outa here!! think im gona concentrate on getting this ABF running good, its the cheaper option for now,
  6. picked up this a few weeks ago, its an unfinished ABF project 1990 { was a 1.8 16v }, runs though, been sorting out the body work , im now getting to grips with getting it running good and sorting out the shambles of what some people might call an exhaust, i call it abit of pipe with a box on the end, so Fn loud i think you could actualy wake the dead with this car! so i got a mid box on order, already fitted a center silencer, but im toying with the idea of putting in my left over 12v vr6 from when i did the 24v in my corrado into this, it all depends on what parts i need to get, it has th
  7. LOL i remember when i got my corrado, the ht leads were very bad! the car konked out on the test drive and the owner got out and started fiddleing with them, next thing he gets a boot!, lol so funny, he didnt think so tho
  8. looking good m8, whats actualy needed for the 312 install? just calipers and carriers and discs? , you got 16" wheels? cheers
  9. have a read , here http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?38925-The-definitive-VR6-cooling-guide
  10. if you still need one i can sell you mine from my corrado, just done a conversion so all the old bits are up for grabs,
  11. ah m8, the problem was the maf sensor plug was damp, the way the wireing was routed it would allow water to drain down into the plug, i found this out when i washed my bonnet and then the car wouldnt start! and when it did it was terrible and un driveable! it all depends how damp the plug is , when i washed it , it was at its worst , but if its damp it can still run but with the symptoms in my first post, just unplug the maf plug and check for corrosion on the spades and dampness and then maybe spray some wd40 in there , if that dont work consider cleaning the maf or replaceing it, just se
  12. its for the 2.0gti vr converted right? , if you can get a haynes manual for the 2.0 then thats perfect, there wireing diagrams are prety good, if not google search it, might get lucky.
  13. iv recently fitted the 24v v6 from a 4mo into my corrado and judgeing by that yea its tricky!! you got the metal heatshield cover above the exhaust manifold that can come off for better access just a few 6mm allen head bolts, remove the intake manifold aswell!!, you got x6 13mm nuts on the downpipe to manifold flanges which need to be soaked in penetrateing fluid before hand, there prety tricky to get to but not impossible, but i think its best just to make access and try and see where the leak is comming from , remember its an exhaust so its best not to drive it if you plan of doing work o
  14. your gona need a wireing diagram for the abs, it will tell you what each wire does on that plug so you should be able to make sense of whats happened there once you know where each wire is supposed to go and what it does.
  15. yea can imagine , mine was bad enough and mine wasnt being blocked by a turbo! , keep at it though , its gona be one bad ass ride..
  16. looking good m8, wouldnt mind a peice of the 3.2 myself if you need someone to sort out your wireing then this guy comes highly recomended, knows his stuff! http://www.clubgti.com/showthread.php?234432-Rubtechwerke-wiring-services!
  17. damn good stuff dude, cars looking sweet as!!,
  18. dont know but try and get the car moveing whilest haveing someone sit on the front slam panel with the bonnet open, might be able to identify better from there, or have someone walk alongside the car and listen out for the noise...
  19. sounds like you have already started on yours? which engine code you got? so wanna go for a drive! blady crap weather for it though
  20. well got my new rad fitted and managed to take it for a quick drive today just down the road and back, WOW! its a completly different car! so nice to drive, the power delivery is almost instant! and doesnt sound like im screaming the crap out of it to get anything in return, LOVE IT! and this is only the 2.8 BDE so i can only imagine what the 3.2 is like;) , it sounds sooo good aswell!
  21. i could see this being rather tricky if done on your drive, iv recently done mine but it was off the car, i would highly recomend getting the right bit so you can use a cordless drill as there is alot of bolts to undoo, and yea clean the surfaces up very good!
  22. cheers pete, iv already brought one for £150 inc delivery from tame side radiators on ebay hope it fits, im just too impatient when it comes to needing something, althought i was so tempted to get one of these! although im not waiting X amount of weeks for a rad from china! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WINNER-HI-PERF-ALUMINUM-ALLOY-RADIATOR-VOLKSWAGEN-CORRADO-VR6-2-9L-M-T-1991-1995-/120766197453?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3ACorrado&hash=item1c1e39eecd
