    there is a boot between the door and body where the wires travel through maybe check these? some of mine snapped not sure on the best way to repair them.

    if you become premium member there are loads of guides on how to do jobs and theres a really good guide i used on timing chains. a tool might be usefull they are found on ebay thats where i got mine ,when tightining the intermidiate sprocket bolt - the one to 100NM did anything move ?

    where should i tie the cv boot its the drivers side and will thick cable ties do ?

    did you make sure that all of the slack was on the tensioner side? just done mine and its gone well

    good idea , just checking im talking about the white around the door handles ? i will nip it to a body shop when its up and running

    ok will just get wing mirrors. when you say some fine wet and dry then polish im quite sure its gone down to primer woud you say ?

    ok can get some pics tomorrow but what i did was: - support car and remove front passengers side wheel. ( gearbox mount should be visible ) - next i supported both gearbox and engine - now you can see the mount as in the picture - to the right of the driveshaft. ( nicked from tonys guide sorry ! ) now get inside engine bay and remove the 3 bolts circled in picture now thats removed undo the 2 13mm bolts and pull out the old gearbox mount and replace. reverse steps to put back together, if i have missed anything out someone will say hope this is some help

    how do i remove the glass ? its not heated, they are just electric. pics dor door handles :

    in my opinion 2-3 hours is very steep, took me 30 minutes and im not a mechanic by any means

    bungy- whats the comany your talking about , might be cheaper as they are closer. whos best to send them over and back because dhl are crazy with their prices!

    nice wheels! shame im in guernsey it costs a fortune nearly £100 per wheel for basic finish.

    just some annoying bits on the golf, points on how to sort these would be great. start with door handles, not the best picture but each one has this where the paint has come away almost as if its dropped. when dismantling sunroof i remove headlining, this covering strip appeared to big so i cut it, stupid idea and i did it to short, where can i get one of these ? some d*** when the car was being worked on scraped accross both the mirrors where can i get these from?

    ok i need advice , should i paint a laquer all 4 my self or leave them ? i would just use paint from an aerosol i dont own a compressor or any kit. if you think i should bite the bullet and go for it what proccess do i use ie preperation and type of paint? here are pics

    cheched oil level or the cable ?

    to remove the driveshaft dont i need a special socket ? then its just a case of disassembling the bearings etc ? what about removing the suspension?

    ive taken mine off and behind it is black plastic ? am i missing something

    may need to raise the engine as that the driver side as there is not enough room to get the inner joint in between the engine and subframe ..... this is passenger side so do you mean that i still need to raise the engine ?

    ok thanks , on the off chance do you sell secondary water pumps for the vr ?

    gearbox now on but driveshaft must of slipped as shown in picture, how can i get this back in because there isnt enough play with the lower ball joint on the wishbone removed
