  4. HELP!! Cant remove valve springs, the whole valve moves with the spring , here are the pics of what is ment to happen. when i press mine down it does not expose the two little collars - arrows point to them in pic 1 - that hold it on they just move down with it . what do i do??
  5. its non turbo which is a shame, and its in a bit of a mess atm ! not sure how much it would be to turbo it though, i can get some more pics that are clearer? and could you explain what valve reseating is im not sure exactly ? how will i knowwhats causing it to leak ?
  6. hey guys its on my renault 5 1237cc. took cylinder head off and tested for leaking by filling them with petrol. suprise suprise they leaked ! so what needs replacing ? here are some pics , sorry its not a vr
  7. ok thanks. taper? which bit is that the rubber booth has split on the track rod end anyway so ill have to replace it
  8. how do i get the trackrod endout of its joint ? its rerally tight and i have undone the bolt underneath
  9. there was blue stuff around the splin on it so im guessing its to do with that, cheers for advice
  10. i need to do the the inner cv joint with as least hassle as possible just cant see why driveshaft wont come off !
  11. have tried for the last hour with a bit of wood and a small sledge hammer, extension bar and socket on the nut then hitting with small sledge hammer and nothing!!
  12. ok so when ive screwed the nut on a few threads do i hit the nut or screw it on enough so i hit he thread ?sorry for so many questions!
  13. ye they are out. whats best to hit it with .sledge hammer with wood or ...
  14. got his far what do i do next? tried hitting spline out but havent wellied it.what doi hit it with as do not havecopper hammer?
  15. ok thats good news , nut, caliper + brake disk off going to do the rest tomorrow. ball joint wont shift used a crow bar and stood on it, no luck
  16. spadman said if grease hadnt been used it would prob come out with a sledge hammer - did he mean grease bearings or what ? and will me taking the driveshaft off effect the bearings atall
  17. what the bearings ? maybe do the job tomorrow not to sure
  18. cheers am doing this now, the big 30mm bolt is so tight its turning the disk even with brakes on ? is it reverse thread or something ?
  19. ok so its not as simple as removing the nut and pushing the shaft forward and out ?
  20. hey guys how do i remove the drivers side driveshaft ? i dont want to disturb the bearings. its just the cv joint has come apart and the driveshaft boot needs putting on.
  21. ok where can i buy these from as most shops ive looked in dont have them and said just use plastic cable ties

  23. flip, 4 hours ! thanks guys will start sat morning and see what happens. will need to find blunt screw driver or something in the mean time
  24. ok thanks will try that, did you do it whilst gearbox was in car etc? and which end of the boot did you stick the screw driver into from?
  25. realised that and am going to wait and get them done proper by a pro !
