  1. yeah tabs are located its only the front seal on the cooler - the bit that bolts through which leaks. going to give it one last go - fingers crossed
  2. its leaked again from the front of the cooler. getting really peed off now , will put some oil on front seal then try again but im loosing patience lost loads of oil already spent £40 for it to spill out
  3. whats the torque setting for oil cooler ? im smearing the seals with a bit of grease this time not sealent!
  4. finger tight ? the wheel was well loose so i just used a bar to tighten it on is this not right ?
  5. yeah i have changed them , is the best thing to do to take front end off and properly investigate it ? it only leaks when it starts and it comes out like a wave - spent another £25 on oil to have it come gushing out again !
  6. started car and huge amounts of oil came out from where oil cooler is , whats wrong it !! its tightened up, i put it on after the oil filter housing but im loosing litres of oil every time it starts so cant run it
  7. ok thanks i take it cant easily be over tightened ? will go tighten it up now thanks again!
  8. went with that option in the end replaced all ball joints and tie rod ends.will i need to pay to have tracking sorted now? its expensive over here ive heard
  9. what is the torque setting for front wheel bearing nut on golf vr6 94? please help as this is my very last job untill i can start her up after a year of work sorting bits out.

  14. just rebuilding everything back up on the golf and cant remember which earth cables go where ? its an auto by the way so starter motor might be different.
  15. cheers i sorted this out eventually just had to raise gearbox and pull the driveshaft around and in. really struggling to split the track rod end ball joint on drivers side - will buying a proper ball joint splitter really sort this ?
  16. sorry guys but i cant find help anywhere so trying here, just replacing the rear wheel bearings on my renault 5. wheel bearing has been pressed into the brake drum but the brake drum wont slide back onto the axle. i have used a small sledge hammer and wood so far the hub nut fits on so i guess i could tighten it to press the drum further on but wouild this damage the bearings as it presses against them ?
  17. mine did this i bought two whole thermostat housings with all the seals but it was still leaking. then i changed to jubilee clips and it stopped so try jubilee clips and use gasket sealent on seals
  18. same here. all done myself not the most pleasent job but after its done shouldnt have to do it again aslong as you have set it up correctly

  21. ok will have to see about borrowing the 150. any tips when welding on the vr6 floor ? its near the drivers seat and so i dont want to interfear with the seat stucture.- how do i do this ? do i cut bad metal from underneath or top ? thanks
  22. ok will check gas . is this MIG 130 going to be strong enough for doing floor pans etc or not? might be able to borrow a MIG 150
  23. sorry guys just realised that the little screw that press's against the wire when its being fed through hadnt been done up! it seems to be fine now but spluttering, it is stronger though. practise was on an old pair of metal cutters , very poor i know !
  24. hi just been paractising MIG welding with a mighty mig 130. the weld is really weak , i can pull the two bits of metal apart with my hands. why is this , is it just not a very strong welder or am i missing something ? im confused as i thought it would be stronger than this ?
