what a nightmare , the coiled wire kept un tangling which made it hard and when i did get it together i had not made each side even so one side would come down before other , eventually did it this mornin -5 outside how sad am i ! Then after a lot of up and down to get glass right i managed to flatten my battery ! Got there in end tho lol ! -

when i took old motor off i removed bout 5 torx screws then slowly pulled coiled wire off the spline , guessin i just repeat on one in car and carefully replace existing coil onto new motor spline then re attach that sound bout right mate -

hi d@ver6 i have old full closure motor still 1H0959802A i have un bolted from old broken regulator, can i just put this one on reg in my car now ? swap over with older motor basically? -

i did try that but no joy since found there is two differnt motors on vag cat 1H0959802A and 1h0959802, guessin one is full auto other isnt, i still have old motor have just removed it from old regulator , hopin can fit onto one in car now then will be full auto again?? guessin its only motor which controls way it goes up and down nothing else.. -
Basically i have a late 96 golf vr6 all windows were fully auto ie one touch all the way down one touch all way up, on drivers side a clip broke making reg useless so i went scrap yard and took one off a 95 golf mk3 gti, got it all in but noticed that its not one touch down and up etc , basically i have to keep pressing button to get it down all the way and same for back up. questions are Was there two types of regulator?? looked on vag cat all models have same part number. or are you meant to re program new regulator heard your meant to when plugging another in any advice gratefully appreciat

not got one no wil have to get hold of one, yes pipes can freeze but jets should still de frost quick like rear window , wil have to investigate

any ideas on heated washer jets too ? My vr6 has wires to them any way of tellin if they function ok i understand its just the inside of the jets that heat up not the whole jet, apparently they operate when rear window de mist is on but cant tell if mine work ok ?

i have a 97 golf vr6 air con model, air con worked fine all summer , but now cold snap has hit when i press econ button on climatronic i dont hear the clutch on compressor kick in! in manual it says if ambient temp below 5 degrees it wont work is it fair to say thats what it is? tried to trick system by pouring warm water of temp sensor in lower grill front bumper but that failed to raise temp . just wondered if anyone else has had this and confirm its just cos of cold snap cheers guys

did alot of work on my car lately afterwards i found leak near power steering pump, sorted leak by tightening a nut, like an idiot didnt top up and have got slight whining from pump under heavy load checked level and its only just on min, want to drain old fluid and fill with new, how much to fill it do i need to buy thanks guys

what power increase can u expect normally after re map on vr6 then anyone?

can you re map the vr6 ? Been told it does not have a mapable ecu ? If it is possible what gains can i expect i have a standard obd 2 96 vr6

when i get my vr hot the coolant gets hot and bubbles but to my kowledge no head gasket probs on mine either, i spent a year taking the front end on and off my golf , replaced the water pipe , thermo housing, oil cooler, water pump internal and external , three core plugs and prob more, each time i lost my coolant i went through times of absolutely hating this car but as time went by things got sorted now i love it check all around your hoses for pink coolant residue also check bottom of radiator through grills of lower bumper, check for leaks from thermo housing or get under while running an

the box u talk about controls air for your central locking, water more than likely getting in through lights or damaged seal, also check rubber gromet where wires go through for wiper motor etc at top

just a word of warning , been told by someone in past that wd 40 is corrosive on paint i advise 3 in 1 spray oil , i had the same prob as u last winter sprayed 3 in 1 into mechanism when door card was off , i then smeared thin amount of vaseline onto rubber and thin amount onto actual door skin where its meets the rubber , did this on all doors not one froze or stuck again hope that helps u : )

i spent 4 hours before puttin my car into show and shine at gti international this year , came down morning of the big day to find treacle/honey all over my vr ! Could of killed someone ! Spent two hours that mornin sortin the paint out and more time at the show , came second so not all bad but like someone said earlier its the haters in this world , pathetic jealous people with nothin! Anyway rant over , were did u get your front clear indicators and fogs from ? And price if poss , also are the fogs dummy ones or functional , seen so many , also any probs in rain with them misting up ? I boug -
i did have that problem too but that was rectified by adjusting rear sensor , mine had moved to far away from ring causing one wheel to lock up when braking, this causing feeling of abs whilst driving and braking that feels like grinding concrete! As above adjusted rear sensor that cured that then i had abs ecu re soldered, braking is now fine but 400 or so mikes later after no light i get it every few days , then next time i drive car it goes out again, weird!
