  1. im after these 2 bolts that hold the plastic lead holder in, its like a female bolt where you screw it onto the stud poking up from the rocker cover. mine are chewed to buggery :-(
  2. so whats the best thing guys? just get a plate welded over it? got a guy who is going to do it who is doing an extensive restoration on his escort mk3 series 1 rs turbo but he is just going to do the welding. do i just stick underseal on it after then some paint over it?
  3. i need these plug holes sorting before they get worse, not too bad at the moment. can you get small repair panels for these? or just put a metal plate in there??
  4. you mean the 4 bar regulator on the fuel rail? fuel filter change was about 1000 miles ago. fuel pump isnt noisy. it drives fine fella, no missfiring etc but this just bugs me!
  5. i promise this will be my last post about the idle, when cold its ok when warm it idles anywhere between 500-650rpm hunting. ive now run out of ideas - new lambda sensor, new leads, new dizzy, tried several idle control valves, tried another throttle body, tried another inlet manifold, sprayed engine to too see if theres any air leaks, replaced all vaccum hoses at back where idle valve is, new temperature senders, cleaned the MAF and tonyvrt has had it on VAG COM and there are no fault codes. :-(
  6. as title golf vr6 rocker cover gasket, what do i need to torque it down to in NM please?
  7. tried different idle valve, throttle body and TPS speed sensor today and still no luck with idling
  8. cheers guys, yeah roughly 1 litre in 3000 miles so not too bad, my friends civic type r can be very juicy on oil! but my rs turbo doesnt use any oil.
  9. no idea just spotted this today when i took all the old wiring tape off
  10. right, was re-taping all my loom today as its looking sorry for itself. now as you can see in my hand i have the 4 pin temperature sender wire and i noticed a bit of a bodge job where my finger is pointing to. the temperature sender wire is joined to one of the starter motor wires. should this be like it or should i seperate the wires??
  11. i know the civic type r is like this. but got the whole front end off the car today doing the power steering pipes and re-taping the loom. so i thought id check the oil and the level has dropped quite a bit in 3000 miles. many thanks guys. i dont notice any blue smoke out of the back of it. filled it back to half way on dipstick with a litre of oil
  12. seems a bit expensive, a set sold for £105 with the brake hoses to suit the calipers, carriers and pads.
  13. yes mate im using a bucket of water but only overlapping it about 10% not itching now :-)
